Front License Plate Problem

I dont know what to do. im from New York and im trying to avoid mounting my front plates on my car. the reason so is that in order to mount it i need to mount the bracket on my bumper with screws. i dont want to mess up my bumper by screwing screws into my bumper. does anyone know a way of avoiding that and mounting it differently ?

I am having the same problem. I am in California so I definately need to put one in the front, some other states don't require it though (lucky!).

I thought of putting my License plate inside the car on the right handside corner where the windshield is but am not sure if a big rectangular thing would look good there......????

Take a chance and don't mount the front plates.
I've had my Carrera 6yrs and S430 5yrs w/o front plates.
If you get ticketed, then put it on. It's a simple fix it ticket.
Who knows, you might be able to buy a lot of time.
I did get a fix it ticket for an old BMW though at LAX.

get the mount that goes into the tow hook spot and you wont have to drill your bumper.

Try 3M double sided tape to mount the bracket on the bumper. It can be removed with some work and a little Goo Gone.

The tow hook is a good idea but I don't like the fact that you have to put it on the side. It'll make the C63 look weird!

Anybody have a pic of their C63 front plate on? If so please show us how it looks the normal way......Thanks!

It does look odd.

Better than double sided tape is adhesive velcro.

Tell me about this tow hook mount for the front plate. Were can I get one. Who makes it? The reason I ask is because I am picking up my car in Louisiana (rear plate only) were the dealer will not have the hardware, but the car will be registered in Montana (two plates).

Thanks

I wonder if post #7 of this thread might provide a clue.

Keep it off.

My E55 never has had a front plate and it has spent all it's life in a state that requires them.

I keep the plate handy in the front of the car, but i just can't ruin the front of the car with it.

A fix it ticket will be the only thing that compells me to put it on.

It's required in MD too but I don't plan on drilling holes or putting it on at all.

C63
Are these really the only choices available? I just picked up my C63 today. I've been a Corvette guy for years and there are several clean solutions for late model Vettes that don't require drilling or offset plates.

I agree the cars look better without the plates. I even understand that most of the time you'll get away without the plates. But there has to be someone out there with a clean center mounted solution for the C63. Why give the local enforcement officers a reason to pull you over?

I'm going to put the C63 up on the lift tomorrow and look at what's under there. There has to be a better way.

BTW. This is my first post in this forum. Great information and great car. This site helped me decide on this car vs. the M3's.

Regards,

Whiplash

Suyre the plate on the side in the tow hook may look "Jap" but at least you can take it off. Wasn't the idea for something temporary anyways. Seems to me the tow hook is the best solution hands down.
Better than double sided tape or velcro.

In in NJ and have mounted my front license plate in my glovebox.

Worth the risk - talked it through with my dealer and they told me to blame them if I get pulled for it (which they don't think will happen). Likely case if it did would be a fix it ticket and then if I got pulled again and hadn't fixed it, a real one. I figured I'd ride my luck until the first warning (if it happens). Looks too good without and honestly, what's with the 10c black plastic housing anyway?! Even my '01 m3 had a body colored housing if you needed to use it.
