Definetly shop around for rates first (see below)! I went in prepared with the best lease and finance rates I could find and the dealer was willing to match either one. I know their "base" rates were not even close to what I was able to find.

A few weeks ago they had a silver one just like mine (with added premium package) that also sold very quickly. The person who ordered it backed out.

I probably should have shopped around the valley for a better price but I have always had a good experience at Schumacher. Plus it's part of their standard deal that if you special order you pay MSRP (I ordered mine a few months ago). Oh well, like some one else said on this forum I don't mind paying more if I'm getting good service and support :-)
I wonder if I can use 1st Credit Union from Portland???? Do you know their Web site?

I was #1 on Schumacher's list back in March, but decided to buy through Oregon where we have a place to avoid the sales tax. Both Schumacher (in AZ) and Rasmussen (in OR) quoted MSRP on an ordered AMG.

You other guys getting a discount bum me out...

http://www.firsttechcu.com - I'm not sure what their requirements are. I became a member out of college when I worked in the "Silicon Forest" (computer chip manufacturing).

I'm sure you can get Rasmussen lower, there are two MB dealers relatively close, so it's possible!

I think I'm going to take it. I'm going to finance through my Insurance company, State Farm @ 5.19% for 48 months.

Anybody have any comments? Does this sound like a good deal?
Mine was $62,260 with all but PP.

Do you have to have a military association to join PenFed? It looks like it from their Web site. Please advise.

You do not. If you do have the association, its free - if you don't, it only takes a $25 donation (that opens an account for you to use).

I just said you should always check PenFed before financing. They may not always have the lowest, but they will always be competitive. When my Porsche dealer found out I had PenFed, they said they don't bother to compete against them.

Guys, all you have to do is tell your local C.U. to match the rates quoted by those other C.U.'s. If they don't, then bounce!...they lose!
