AMG 6/4 piston calipers vs Brembo 6/4 piston monobloc calipers

Dear all,

I am wondering what are the differences between the AMG 6 and 4 piston calipers and the monobloc 6 and 4 piston calipers by Brembo? They look identical to me but the AMG ones are said to be developed by themselves? Will I get any benefits upgrading from the AMG 6/4 piston calipers to the Brembo Monobloc 6/4 piston ones? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I spoke to someone at Brembo about this a while ago. They said that even though the Brembo's are better, the stock AMG brakes are very good and it's not worth the money to upgrade.

Why would Brembo say thattheir brakes are better? AMG brakes are made by Brembo specifically for our AMG products.

The only way a Brembo product may be better is by upgrading to a larger size rotor or caliper.

My guess is the reason they are "better" is because of the composite rotors all the way around.

why wouldn't Brembo say their products are better? if I owned a company, i would say the product was better than anything out there.
