2009 C63
Yes they work great, unlike the laws in Canada most US states allow the use of radar detectors. I just finished an 1880 mile trip (in the C63) from Dallas to Montreal and had to remove the detector as soon as I crossed the border at Sarnia (recommended by the custom's officer otherwise risk penalties).
The only downside is radar detection once it hits you it is usually too late unless a car in front has been tagged and you get a reading, and for that we install laser deflector devices.

It is an Escort 8500. It works great for me. It is legal where I drive. I pick up radar on average about 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. I have had it for 3 years, no tics (previous car was a C55). I am always on the lookout for police cars and undercover vehicles. It is equally important to know what the local law enforcement uses for stationary and undercover surveillance. Also, where I live, airborne surveillance is also used, so I have to know where the highways are striped for that type as well. Drive safely!

everyone please refer to post #5 to see just how much you all NEED tints !!
I honestly think they make the exterior of any car look soooooo much better!
for further evidence, looks at the pics of the non-tinted one

another new c63 (uk)
I picked up my C63 on the 10th of September, and tomorrow it will reach 1000 miles, happy days ! Its the same as GBlanstens exactly, except my cup holders have a sliding cover over them, I dont have the front side indicators, and it has black maple wood trim, which looks darker than GBlanstens.
Oh and its right hand drive of course. I also have the new style rear view mirrors.
Do you guys get a message every time you fire it up "rear seat belt not engaged" ? And does your drivers door rear view mirror make a very German groan when it folds inwards ?
I will post some pics soon.

Nice to hear a comparison with the C55! I was soooo close to getting a C55 a few years ago but bought an Z4M Coupe instead (and liked it for about 2 weeks) Happy to be in an AMG now.
I agree on the sound! I didn't buy the C63 for the sound, but at 3500 miles I have found it to be one of the best parts of this car -- next to the power of course
Can't wait to hear your impressions of the Kleeman. Post all the info you can! I agree with you completely about the ECU tune. I think this is where the market is. Bring the car up to stock E/CL/SL 63 levels -- this is not a Civic and the majority of MB owners are not going to get crazy with mods. This is where the money is, tuners, are you listening? OK so I got on my soapbox here in your thread, sorry.
GBlansten - congrats on your car as well. Why did you decide to go with the C63 over the SLK? I'm glad you did!

I like the color scheme on the black/beige. I'm glad to see that MB didn't put the light colored carpeting and mats in the lower section of the interior - it takes about 2 weeks to get permanently stained.
Nice cars.

Congrats on the new car. I plan to upgrade from a C55 to C63 too. Possibly with a 2010 model. Can't go wrong with the classic silver color
