Recent malfunctions/maintenance for your C63

I do not know if i'm the first to have one, but since i do, i'll post it here.

3 days ago i found out that oil was dripping from the left bottom side of the front bumper. After close examination it seemed that the oil intercooler connected to the bumber on the left bottom side was causing the leak. I took it to the dealer next morning and today they told me that the O-ring connecting the tubing from the oil cooler (oil injector it seems) was damaged, without really knowing why.... Mind you the car only has 2000 km on it and something like this pops up.. kinda worrying..

If any of you guys have similar early malfunctions or issues, share it with us here.

Man i hear that there is more than one case with the oil leak already.. there might be a defect in your engine causing abnormal oil pressures. check on that. this is definately not good.

What I like!
No leaks here... just checked under the car to make sure!

I had a bad cam position sensor at 60 miles.

I'm now at 2000 miles with no other problems.

I sure hope this is just first year production blues. I for one expect top quality from a car of this level and will not stand for something as easy as an oil leak.

The oil leak, the O-ring, and the cam position sensor have actually been very common issues since the 63 engine was released 2 years ago, but they're very minor. There are a couple of TSBs out for each of those things, and the dealer should be able to fix them in a couple of hours.

It's an "oil cooler" my friends, not an intercooler or oil intercooler...

Anybody have connections with MBUSA to post the TSB's on the site? Would be nice to have a source for TSB's and recalls on the C63 other than your "friendly neighborhood dealer".

They're here somewhere, I'll try to find the link for them. But for some reason, I don't think it'll matter much because the dealer will not apply a TSB unless there is a problem with the car and you actually complain about it. Sometimes, it may take a couple of complaints before they actually do it.

There is also a new TSB for the sunroof issue on the 204 chassis. The repair is a new software flash.

I too have had the moon roof issue. It did not auto open close and was moving one position at a time. Also at random when the automatic mirrors open back up (just after the door is open and I'm starting the car) I hear a wierd humm form the drivers side. Consumed 1.5 quarts of oil at about 2,500 miles but that should be with in spec.

Definitely not at the same level as an oil leak but wait until someone tries to unlock your back doors by pulling the lock pin. Don't try it- they pull right off and do not go back on. 2-3 hrs labor to repair and they don't have a fix for the defective part. The dealership super-glued mine without my knowledge and they were surprised when I noticed the "acetone" burn on the pin and surround.

1.5 qt. of oil consumed in 2500 miles, what does that thing have a old school rotary 12A engine?

Just dropped mine off at the dealership for an oil leak too. Noticed it at 500 miles. It's coming from the pan and I noticed oil at the cooler too. The dealership is being very good about it. They were almost as upset about it as I was. We'll see when I get it back.
