K&N filters offer psychological horsepower gains. They do not actually offer substantive changes in power. The former is a potent effect and should not be discounted whatsoever.

A search on this website will reveal a very, very disparate set of opinions on this topic.

20 years ago, no. But nowadays, with forums and Ebay, it is easier reselling performance parts/accessories.

I really want to believe that the AMG filters offer the same (if not better) performance that K&N does.

Quit beleiving, they DON'T my friend. I have NEVER heard of ANY car making more power on stock filters, and that includes ANY AMG. They work, are cheap, and you NEVER have to replace them. Best of both worlds, IMHO.

See yeah

LOL. Going to get my C63 this morning. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I will get on the forum when I get back to Baton Rouge from New Orleans. BTW I guess I will get some K&N filters at the local hardware store on the way home.

YES, there are countless threads on ALL the AMG forums that showed GREENS, and K/N's made more power, and were quicker at the drag. People its NOT rocket science here, they flow MORE air, easier, so they make MORE power. Yes keep in mind that this easier flowing air comes at a price, and that is they DON'T trap really fine dirt particles as well, atleast that is the anti hipe on them. IMHO it just doesn't matter becuse the level of dirt in question is TOO small to hurt anything. Oh well, here we go again I'm sure with more debate. Just let me say that I have never seen any problems with any engine, MAF, or ANY other part in my 20 some years of K/N use, for what its worth.

See yeah

Oh yeah, I am not connected with K/N in ANY way, nor have I EVER been, just my leagal disclaimer
