Exterior changes... opinions?

Hi guys.. i've had the 63 a while now, still not bored. However i have been flirting alot with the idea of a few exterior mods. And after seeing that thread with that cf bodykit... It was hot!!

I wish I could photoshop but I cant so i'm going to list my ideas here, tell me what you think and feel free to give me more ideas. I really want to try and create something a bit unique but without going over the top. (my c63 is pal silver by the way)

1) CF roof spoiler
2) CF boot spoiler
3) CF diffuser
4) CF front lip
5) Roof painted black
6) All emblems painted black (the '6.3' signs on the sides and the 'C63 //AMG' at the back)
7) The front grill in black like Mnl Ice's (maybe?)

How does that sound?

red int with black would look really great!

IMO I think placing carbon everywhere is acceptable if you have a black car or
dark grey.

All sounds great except for the roof spoiler. Personal opinion but I never really liked them. And I like the black roof idea but don't think I could bring myself to painting it.

I bought an extra set of 6.3 badges and painted them black and concluded these are best left as is. Since the 6.3 are not individual letters it just looks like a mass of black with the bar. Chrome numbers and black bar is the way to go. But the badges on the back in black would look good. With my Iridium Silver, I'm actually thinking painting them a dust gunmetal/pewter as opposed to straight black. I've also thought about painting the chrome trim around the windows black.

And how about INTERIOR mods? Here are some ideas I'm thinking about, but don't know if I want to get started down this path haha.

- Reupholster headliner/pillars in suede/alacantra
- Cover dash in suede/alacantra w/ silver deviated stitching
- Painted seat backs in either gloss black or Iridium Silver, or Carbon Fiber replacements if ever available.

Thats about it. The headliner I'm sure a shop could do pretty easy, but not so sure about dash. Would seem difficult to tuck the material around the edges? Anyway, those are some of my crazy ideas.

I removed the emblems to make it look cleaner, but frankly I like the chrome. With that being said, it appears that I am in the a minority. I've seen people paint all the chrome trim black, remove the front grille to one without the emblem and paint it black, and everyone likes the matte black wheels. I'm waiting for someone to say they are going to paint the whole car matte black or in primer - wouldn't surprise me given how I can't relate to the whole "blacking" out of cars...

What I like!
Sounds good for what you're after -- unique without going over the top. It will be tasteful and eye-catching. What kind of wheels are you planning for? Stock wheels might look silly with those other cosmetic changes.

Me, I'm keeing my appearance stock because I am a nerd and I like it that way.

not just sleeper, but proven PROVEN lower visibility from cops. Think about it - you scream by and a cop glances up - what's he gonna spot first? You bet your screamin coral red C that's what! Me, I'll fade into the crowd, chill on the gas pedal and hopefully escape unscathed.

Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE that shade of red, but am too much a woos to get that on my car and risk more tickets.

So I'm going all black!

Oh, I'd; do matte black all around if I could and keep the finish even. But there is no such thing as matte wax so after about a week matte black paint looks like crap. The real reason for matte? laser wouldn't work very well on the car - and I live in all laser territory.

Thats true stock wheels might not go with everything... they wont look *bad* but they wont accentuate the look im going for as much. Undecided on the wheels... I'll start getting things done and will post pics as it comes together. Guess we'll see how it all pans out.
