CAM Sensor @ 7k miles...
I remember a few of you posting about a CAM sensor that needed to be replaced however, I did not remember reading how the car behaved.
I was merging onto the highway and slapped the throttle to get in front of a truck that was dropping dirt on the road. I quickly accelerated from 70 to about 110 and then exited at the next off ramp. By the time I reached the end of the ramp the car felt as if it was misfiring badly. Wasn't sure if I was going to make it another mile to my office with the car stalling. It never stalled but the check engine light turned on and limped to the office.
I turned off the car and then turned it back on to see if it would start. It fired right up without the check engine light and ran perfectly.
I dropped the car for service and once connected it showed a misfire on an entire side of the engine. They are going to replace the sensor and said it should be as good as new.
HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE....? Please post or PM...

Had a bad cam position sensor at 60 miles. No major symptoms except for the yellow CE light... but, I was taking it easy at the time because I had just bought the car. I heard a slight pinging under accelleration, but only once. After that I made sure I was light on the throttle. The dealer said it was OK to drive while they waited for the part, so I drove it home. No further issues after they replaced the sensor.
