Vinyl Wrap a New trend for Exotics ?!?
The current trends among Exotic owners are painting or converting their cars with a matt base paint especially among Ferrari owners.
however some have invested $1500~4000 on their ride to cosmetically change their appearance using vinyl ! here are some photos.
I have started this thread in continuation of a previous thread (sorta went another direction)

I think it looks really good, but I would be afraid that it damages the original paint job. Putting glue on the paint and leaving it on there for months or even years just can't be good for it.

Boy, I called this one... In a previous thread, I explained how I am in the minority as I still appreciate chrome, and everyone seems to be de-chroming everything. I even joked that "primer" would be next. I was very close to right...

I love it, but its gota get done right. one pic showed some red in the door jams. I would make sure there is no evidence of the original paint.
I would also have a concern about paint damage when removed. Anytime you put something like that on for a long time, it may cause some damage. But im sure Ferrari must use some goooood paint.

however I to am concerned with leaving it on for a long period of time ie 3+ years.
its the most in-expensive way to experiment with other colors and hues.
if you get tired with it, just peel it off.

Europe has been this type of thing for several years now. There are perfessional shops that do this with no damage to the original paint. As long as they "know" what they are doing and don't cut into the paint with their razor blades while applying the vinyl.I love the matte look and am sure we will see more and more of this in the future,ie Brabus Bullit.

I know someone that did it to a C350 (German spec), the complete car, there was no damage at all done to the vehicle, it was just a matter of simply washing the vehicle, once he removed the wrap. did it at the local car wash, with the pressure cleaner.

You can very well damage the paint when removing this stuff. Thats why you have to remove it with alot of steam. when steamed up enough this stuff stretches like shrink wrap. Removal should be left to a pro

Have you ever seen some of the total idiots that work as techs at local MB dealers? No saying all MB techs are idiots but there are a select few. Like the MB Tech that nearly cost me a crank shaft because they didn't tighten my crank pulley enough, then blamed me and the people that first installed it.
