Hmmm...I don't recall the LSD being a stand-alone option...at least not here in Canada. I'll check again.

Thanks.

Thanks! But that is definitely not the one I test drove. I would have loved to have seen that in person though.

Any of you Vancouver (or BC) people know which dealership is likely to offer a better deal than Richmond MB?

I'm getting quite anxious now to make the move!

Hang on a second...is it just me, or does that car that AMG ME posted pictures of look darker than the Steel Grey example that Hans posted? Are they not supposedly the same colour?

Over here (Europe, Netherlands) some options of the performance package (LSD, speed limiter, wheels) are stand alone. But this may differ from country to country so YMMV.

They are the same color. Steel/Tenorite looks different depending on how the light hits it. Without bright sunlight, it looks darker and won't sparkle as much.

I went back and forth with tenorite and palladium. But once you see tenorite in the flesh there's no going back. Pictures don't do it justice!

You guys are right...that Tenorite Grey (Steel Grey in US) is awesome. I'm going to visit see the dealership this weekend and see what kind of price I can get. There are two white ones at the Richmond dealership (for those of you in Vancouver), one which has the Performance Package (including the carbon fibre interior trim, which I quite like because it's reminiscent of my S4). I'm not sure if I can wait 2 to 3 months for my car! Haha...

Any of you Vancouver folks know if there's a Tenorite Grey model at any of the other dealerships (on Broadway, or maybe on Boundary)?

I will stop by there tomorrow, as I pass by that way sometimes for work related matters. Is yours also a Tenorite Grey by any chance?

Yes, you are correct about the different names for the same colour.
Your car looks great in Tenorite/Steel Grey. I saw another one @ the North Vancouver MB dealership; it too looked fabulous !!
Another great colour for the C63 is Palladium Grey #792.

I totally agree. I just went to the dealership on Broadway today during lunch, and I saw an SL65 there in Palladium Silver, and I think my first choice now will be the Tenorite Grey and the Palladium Silver second.

Apparently the C63 AMG Premium Package has changed a little bit. It no longer includes the Thermotronic automatic climate control, and has only the regular dual-zone climate control, but they've included the media kit and the Parktronic in there. Price for the Premium Package has gone up from C$4,800 to C$5,200.

The AMG Performance Package has changed also in Canada. They dumped the Carbon Fiber completely and reduced the price from $6500 to $4000. I notice you can now add it on separately for $2500. This matches the Performance Package in the US now doesn't it?

Oh, that's rather interesting. I was wondering if there was a way to get the carbon fibre without having to take on the rest of that package.

Thanks for the update!

I wanted the carbon fiber too, even though I really didn't want to pay the huge performance package price. So, in the end I talked myself into it. My car should be here in a matter of days. I can't wait!

That's interesting news ! Glad to see that Parktronic, previously available in Europe, will now be offered on the C63 with PP.

When you test drove the C63, what was your impression of the ride quality on Vancouver's streets ? Is it brutally firm and choppy like the previous generation M3 ? Or is it compliant with irregular pavement ?

I would do whatever you can to get the LSD - makes the car much more fun to drive and gives the driver a lot more control of the rear end during spirited driving.

Just confirmed with my dealer. The 3 zone climate control is gone. Only 2 zone now. That kind of sucks. $2500 for a few small pices of CF trim is ridiculous but I got it anyway when i ordered the package.

At least we get parktronic...! I better get the new mirrors or I'm going to flip.

I thought the ride was absolutely perfect. The test drive was in Richmond, but there was enough variance in road surfaces along the drive to get a good cross section of what I will be expecting in ride quality when I eventually get the car.

I like the suppleness of the ride while remaining composed in the face of undulating road surfaces. I'm sure there'll be people who aren't used to a relatively firm suspension who might complain (though I'd doubt many of those people exist on this board). My S4 rides a tiny bit softer than the AMG, but I've also had NSXs in the past with Koni Yellows and Comptech springs so maybe my impressions aren't exactly neutral.

In any event, I liked the good compromise between the stiff springs and the dampers on the C63 very much.

Thanks for the input. I've pretty much made up my mind to forego the Performance Package, however. I guess I'll just have to find a way to be happy with the car without the LSD.
