C63 vs Vette LS3??
well i was in a beautiful afternoon, when i found a vette LS3 with 430hp...
i tried to race him, but the guy dont..
i have seen this guy in the last days acccelerating his car, but when i put the beast besides him, i dont know what the $%$# happened...
DOES ANY BODY HAVE EXEPERIENCED this?
i think this vette must be faster...

If thats a 05 06 Regular vette you will win. I think a Z06 would be close.
I drove a 06 Vette and I was really let down by the performance and fit and finish. I had thought about a Z06 but after that I wont buy a car that is that poorly put together.

I think the 08 vettes are faster. they dont weight alot so that helps them. the shifter has been updated from 05 to a better short throw. Alot of the reason why people were beating the 05-06 vettes is the shifter was known for missing gears, Yes its driver error but it was happening to a lot of first year new body style vette owners and WS6 trans-am owners too. I would even say with a good drive in an 05 Vette vs a C63 stock for stock it would be close. If its a manual vs the C63's auto the Vette is going to have less driveline loss. A stock C63 has about 339whp (Dyno dynamics) and an 05 vette (manual) puts down about the same so it would be close for sure but i think the 430hp vettes would take a stock c63
Here is the dyno sheet of my modded C55 vs stock C63 just to give you an idea what a C63 on a dyno dynamics puts down

I have a '08 430hp Vette and I think the C63 pulls harder up until around 80. Pretty sure the C63 has more torque. You can feel the weight advantage and better aerodynamics of the Vette around 80mph. The Vette is just sooooo unpolished. The C63 handles better and has better seats. I put an airbox on the Vette and I still think the C63 would take it.

I ran against a M6 LS3 Vette Vert last month. I went 12.02@118.18, he went 12.5@113.5. He was smirking a bit before we raced then immediately left the facility after getting walked by the 4180lb grocery getter.

I currently have a C63.
Previously I have had:
2007 Z06 - It would crush the C63 if you can put the power to the ground.
From a roll or once it gets moving fuggedaboutit, the Z06 is a monster.
They routinely trap 125+ stock and run anywhere from low -high 11s
I know guys who have actually run 10.9s@130 stock, but they are professional caliber drivers
2005 400hp C6 automatic - 12.57@110.67 stock 1.92 60'
2008 400hp C6 manual - 12.55@115.85 stock 2.02 60'
I have driven the new LS3 in an automatic.
It felt strong.
My bet is a very close race between it and a C63.
I would think on the top end or from a highway roll the LS3 would win by a small margin due to lighter weight and aerodynamics, but I wouldn't bet on it.
0-80 it would be a drivers race, who can control wheelspin better.

Yeah your reading that right, My C55 with just about every mod other than cams and a SC puts down more HP, But I would bet the C63 would beat me in the 1/4 mile. the C63 is set up every well and it has more gears.

or those who said c63 is faster than c6 z06---->

just slapped crap together. I had a 77 camaro when I was a kid and I got the same feeling from the Vette. If the Z06 is like that I wont even consider it.
The AMG is so much better builts its not even worth discussing.

Paul, when we were at Fletcher, we saw these funny looking plastic clamshells on the rear lateral control arms. You have these on yours?
Also, when we popped the hood and looked at the ground wiring attached to the inside front left fender, it looked like some speaker wire attached. We were surprised to see the brown speaker wire, actually it was grounding wire, however, could have easily passes as fom Radio Shack.
Anyone else notice these observations on their cars?

Lomita let me go check
Nope no stuff unexpected. Nothing different than the plastic air channels to the brakes. Those kinda looked inexpensive but not anything unusual.

always vette GUYS talk about incredible times in the Z06, but i have never saw a stock do better than 11.7 sec in the 1/4 mile...
the rest for me is BS IMO.
a friend of mine here in the forum own a GT3 RS and another friend of us has the Z06.. The z06 goes dead even with the GT3... STRANGE... i know everybody talks that the z06.. but i never see this...
BTW the GT3RS is euro spec and the Z06 is US SPEC , dont know if this do any difference, i think yes because the US spec has more catalystics

Xanid911 In the GT3 forum on Rennlist when the Z06 came out there was some hubub, but it died away quick. Not much else was said. Other than some GT3 and RS guys were quicker than the Z06 on the track. I still think our C63s are noticably quicker than the stock C6 after driving one last week hard. Even the owner said the AMG was easy to tell its quckness. I have only ridden in a C6 Z06 not driven. I have driven a C5 Z06 and that thing was horrible. When you would
go over cracks in the road you could feel like everything loose in the door cabinets rattling. It was no way faster than the C63.
It would be interesting to drive a Z06 C6. I am just lazy because it would be easy to call my friend up and get a crack at his 07 Z06.

On dragtimes.com a local guy supposedly ran 12.3@116 in his stock C63.
As for the Z06, 1st off, I am NOT a Vette guy, maybe more of a Mustang guy, but like I said, NOW I own a C63.
There are numerous documented vids of stock Z06s running high 10s through low 11s trapping well over 127-130.
Do a search on corvetteforum.com under Ranger, there is abother guy also, both 10s stock.
You have to figure, if a stock C63 is capaple of 12.3@116, the Z06 weighs 800lbs less = 11.5@124, and the Z06 has 54 more horsepower = 11.0@129 theoretically of course.
Chevy stats are 11.7@125 I believe, based on an average.
With all that said, I am very impressed by my C63, it is a BEAST.
It actually scares me sometimes.
I wish it were AWD, then it would be perfect.

its CGT times... with 120hp and the same wheight.
i have seen vettes z06 at 12~12,3
so you are telling me that the car will down 1,5 sec??
IMPOSSIBLE a STOCK z06 do a 10s race....

I believe both Ranger and Jamie Fuhrman (sp?) both went 10s in bone stock C6 Z06s at Cecil/MIR.
Keep in mind these are fast tracks and said individuals both put 100 or more passes into achieving those lofty goals.
That being said, they are legitimate numbers. Take it FWIW.

Did the person who claimed to run that post a slip/vid?
Thanks

Don't forget, he ran in NJ and was blessed with the best air in the country at ATCO or E-town.
