Guys, I have said it a thousand times " Friends don't let friends buy Michelins"
If you are only getting 4000 miles, I would STRONGLY suggest Bridgstone 050 PP's as your next tire choice. They are almost as sticky as R-type tires, and will certainly last atleast 4000 miles my friends.
If you want more wear, and atleast as good handling, buy Goodyear GS-D3's. A WAY better all around tire than Michelins, IMHO.
Next best, aka cheaper, Yokohomo's ES100's. Good all around tire, but it does give up some grip compared to the above.
See yeah
PS: I have tracked all of the above tires, including Michelin Pilots.

I currently have the P-Zeros on my C230 sedan. OE were Pilot Soprts (not the 2's) which were very good in the dry and pretty good in rain. They lasted almost 15,000 miles. Next up were Goodyear F1 GS-D3's which were just as good as the Michelins in the dry and were fantastic in the rain. My only complaint is that they got noisy at the end. They lasted almost 10,000 miles (which I consider reasonable), and I replaced them with the p-Zero's, which are crap. They are OK in the dry (not as good as the others) but suck in the wet. Further, the Michelins and Goodyears wore pretty evenly front to rear, but the rear Pirellis are now gone after ~10,000 miles, while the fronts are maybe halfway. This is my second and last set of Pirelli's.
My advice is to try the GS-D3's - I am going back to them for my next set.
I drive mostly in town, and very hard - somewhere between aggressive and anti-social.

I can't believe it! I just got back from my tire guys shop to check out my new winter wheels and he tells me the rear tires (P Zero's) are already shot! Right down to the wear bars! That's after just 8,000km (or 5,000 miles). And honestly I havn't been spinning them up.
I've owned a few of fast cars in the last 10 years, but have never gone through tires this quick.
I love the P Zero's but I need some suggestions on a better wearing brand to replace them with in the spring.
