Hey guys i live in canada,edmonton alberta . and you all know how the front lights are always on and i am planning to ship my car overseas where i dont need them to be running so how can i turn them off???? my saleman told me they are not allowed to do that..and it will be really awekard for me to have the lights 24/7 on..any help pls???? ..

just leave your lights on auto and they will only turn on when you turn your wheel.

Ship overseas and go to your local (overseas dealer) with a box of the best local pastries. Ask to speak to the shop foreman to introduce yourself (he can be your best point of contact for any issues) Present the pastries as an introduction gift for the boys in the back......

Once the pleasantries are delt with ask him if he could hook up the STAR Diagnostic and switch the light settings to the "Local" standard.

Away you go.

yeahi wouldnt post this if it was that easy,, i am from libya and 1 month ago they close down the MB dealership,becaus the owner was charged for some **** he did...

Did you try the shop foreman at you Calgary dealer rather than the Salesman??

I assume this is a more complicated issue than disabling daytime running lamps on the IP which is an option for USA models.

Any dealer should be able to switch that option off using STAR diagnostic after you provide some kind of proof that the car is leaving the country. I've done it before from here in the U.S.

It may work if you remove the head lights fuse or relay

Did we not cover a portion about how in our contracts we state that we cannot export the vehicle outside of North America for a period of 1 or something year? I remember something about that..
