ESP hits like a ton bricks

ESP hits like a ton bricks
I was accelerating from a red light around a moderate corner the other day (ESP on full), I could feel the wheels slipping ever so slightly and then BAM!, the ESP activates, the car suddenly loses power and lurches forward (enough to jar the occupants), and the wheels chirped. A split second later, I am in second accelerating again.
It is a similar feeling to when I was learning to shift from 1st to 2nd in a hard acceleration with a manual and did not have the timing right causing the car to lurch between gear shifts.
Is this normal? Seems way more severe than on my CLK430.

normal, and i ****ing hate it. if the c63 has a sport esp, turn that on.
the ESP was one of the major reasons I got rid of my E55, anything I did the car would lose a bit of traction (expected, with all that torque) but the ESP kept ****ing bogging it down.
Very lame to say the least.

Very normal, my routine after I hit the START button on my car, is lean over, switch to ESP Sport or OFF (depends what mood I am in, "Lamb" or "Villan"), then switch to manual shift, the one time I forgot to switch these factory setups, and on my first launch at a stop light, I did the head bopping a la bobbing for apples look, the people beside me seemed to be smirking.......sort of embarassing, felt like a loser.

I felt the same way but I still beat them so I guess it was not so bad!

PS....How is the ride with the 19" rims? They look awesome. I was thinking about ordering them.
