If you guys find out where and how to get replacement clips please let me know. I am assuming that you talking about the front large cover that has clips on it. I damaged one (it actually came flying off when I lifted the front cover section and then had to fish it out from a crevice down on the block!!) when changing filters and removing the carbon filters.
I will need to enquire at the dealer parts dept to see if we can order them through them.

My parts guy told me the only way to get the clips was to buy the front cover itself. My pricing was around $83 I believe...

Guess what Santa delivered to the house today...Why a nice new CF airbox for the C63! Installing it as we speak. I can't wait to take the beast out and see how she feels after the latest mod.

Merry Christmas to all!

Got mine today and just finished removing the clips from the OEM front cover and installing on the new one. Just going to go out and Dremel off the MB Star from the OEM and glue to new cover tonight. Will complete the install tomorrow in daylight.
Thanks agian Andy for making this a great christmas!! LOL

You need to remove the 6 metal clips that hold the front cover from the original and put them on the CF unit. It is tough to get them off without damaging them. I ended up making a tool out of some sheet metal I had laying around that helped. A screwdriver tends to bend them and flatten the litle teeth that grip into the cover. Mine seem to hold pretty tight in the CF cover, but I did realign the teeth with a small needle nose pliers after removal and before installing on the new cover.

I used 2 very small flat screwdrivers to pry off the teeth from both sides at the same time, therefore releasing the grip of the small teeth. I also used the needle nose pliers, as did Mike, to reshape and tightly close the teeth before sliding them back onto the CF cover.

Yes please contact me via email at andrew@modernhorsepower.com. We are currently overseas tuning vehicles for the royal families of the gulf region, however I can still process orders electronically.

Thanks

Thanks Barry!

I'm currently at the Sheraton in Abu Dhabi but will be switching over to the Embassy (where the film "The Kingdom" was partially taped, the palace portion) in the next few days.
It's a beautiful country, and we're right on the sea. Unfortuantely (or fortunately) we work 16-18hrs a day. Not complaining, we're doing some amazing cars (X6s, GTRs, Scuderria, LP640s, Gallardo 560s, Veyron, GT2s, AMGs of all types, and Nissan/Infiniti and Lexus/Toyotas).
I get to personally drop off the TRD blown and MHP tuned Lexus LX570 of the high sheik of Abu Dhabi tom--hd camcorder will be rolling lol. I saw the palace from the outside for the past 2 days on the way from the hotel to the shop. Honestly, I've traveled quite a bit but have never seen anything like it. It's larger than most museums I've seen, more on par with a NFL or MLB stadium in terms of overall size sq footage. Unbelievable.
There's a shopping mall in Dubai which has indoor skiing with real snow and ski lifts.
Also a 2600ft sky scraper, from tne top of which you can see the curvature of the earth.
Good call on the tea, it is quite good here as is the hummous.

I'll post a ton of vids (before/after tuning racing, etc) when I get home.

Take Care and good talking with you again!

Andy

Thank you, it's good to be back. Despite all the crap that's gone on in the recent past I missed "talking" with a lot of members here.

The hummous is insanely good here, as is the tea w/ milk (I typically drink a lot of white/green tea w/ splenda at home which just doesn't compare lol).

This country is GREAT. Every road is 3-4 lanes wide and one way, meaning every stoplight is a drag race. LOL, some of the Nissan Patrols are NASTY (we're tuning a few as well). I've honestly never been anywhere with as many car enthusiasts in my life...The amount of modified high performance/exotic cars here is astounding. Just got back in from another ride in a 1250 hp (Built 8.2L LSX with 500 shot, 320/180 2 stage) 08 C6 Z06. The car is absolutely WICKED.

Thank You! You have a beautiful country and I'm enjoying every minute of my time here. The way things are going we should be here every 2 mos or so. If you're in the area please let me know (send me a PM) I would love to meet you and we're tuning cars pretty much around the clock. We've got 5 C63s on the list so far and going for a ride or racing tuned vs stock to show the difference is not a problem.
The last two days we spend here we're going to a sand race and then for a ride in the LS7 powered dune buggys. I absolutely cannot wait. It's a motorheads paradise!

Thanks!
Andy
