Brakes?

2008 C63 AMG
9,800 miles and my dealer is telling me the noise is "normal" for AMG cars, but the pads don't need replacing as of yet. Good luck getting a straight answer out of your dealer!

9/10 times brake noise is either glazed pad face's, cause's a high pitch squeak when coming to stop. glazed pads are usually caused by "spirited driving style"
Reamedy: remove pads + use a bit of sand paper to de-glaze pads
Also build up of brake dust can cause slight squeal when coming to a stop. try clean out with some brake cleaner.

I have had the same problem in my ML63, clearly a heavier car, but dealership claim sqqueeling breaks are commonplace in mercedes, let alone AMGs. The claim a lot of city driving doesnt help. whatever the reasons it really ****s me off

With more aggressive pads there is also a lot of deposit on the discs. Get the car up to highway speeds (where safe) and stop as fast as you can without letting off the pedal. This will clean the disc off. After hard braking avoid sitting on the brakes at traffic lights (example, after a long down hill with a lot of braking, then sitting at a light for 40 seconds) can deposit a lot of material. If there is too much you may even feel like the discs are warped.
