Why not REAL rear fender flares? Thoughts?
All of us complain how much the cars needs bigger tires in the rear. I've also read posts asking why MB decided to flare the front fenders, but not flare the rear fenders. What if you could get rear flares in the same type of mold as the front flares put on the rear? I know it would allow us to put 12" wide tires in the back with P335's, but would it look good or out of place?
Anybody skilled at Photoshop want to try and mock it up?

Sign me up! I have already been talking to the local body shop about this. Someone, please come out with something.
I know the Brabus Bullit has extended rear fenders but I doubt we can get them if you could afford them. They incorporate the entire rear panel and rear door. Let us know!!

I was thinking the same thing - the front is flared so why not the back? Kind of silly. With the back flared it would look more like the CLK Black which looks awesome.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I agree with the need for wider rear flares. If I recall correctly, the reason the front fenders are flared so much, is to accomodate a larger engine cradle and the C63's AMG suspension components.

bone stock E55 AMG
it CAN be done with the right shop...
rear door/fender/bumper need to be worked on...
question is how many C63 owners are seriously interested in this and how much this project will cost?

Interestingly enough (to me anyway) I never really scrutinized the lack of rear flare. My prior 2008 E90 M3 had a fairly decent front and rear flare to it that I thought really set off the car nicely. I've only had my C63 for about 2 months now and I've spent a great deal of time admiring it, but the more I look at it now, the more frustrated I'm becoming about complete lack of rear flare, aggressive styling. Depending on $$ of course, I'd be very interested in a group buy on something that could be then taken to a local bodyshop for install/paint.

Not that hard, but how many of you are actually willing to do serious sheetmetal work? you can't just hammer the original lip a little, we are talking about actually cutting, folding, and tack welding.
if you are interested, i'll be posting up photos of the work on my widebody SLK.
Most people chicken out at this stage....lol...
