Engineering Menu Question

I'm trying to figure out how to change the logo on the COMAND screen from the MB star to the AMG logo and had a question regarding one of the options in the engineering menus. I don't see a setting to select anything AMG like some of the other COMAND systems supposedly have based on posts I read on benzworld. I did however see an option under the "Display" menu called "Sample image from PCMCIA Card" Does anyone know what this does? If I load a jpeg of the AMG logo on my memory card can I pull it off there and replace the MB star? If so, does anyone know the correct image size to properly fill the screen on the COMAND display?

TIA,

Mike

Press the following three keys at the same time and hold for about 5 seconds.

Hang up, #, 1

You should see the engineering menu come up on the screen. You need to be careful what changes you make as you can really mess up your COMAND by choosing the wrong settings.

That's a little off topic, but I don't think there is a memory function that retains the last display setting for the cluster when restarting the car.

Thanks for that post on how to access the engineering menu!

Two questions for you:

1) How did find that trick out?
2) What do all those settings do and is there a website that decodes all the different settings?

I got the key combo from another forum, and I don't know what all the settings do. Trying to find out as much as I can before changing anything.

BTW - W204 COMAND is not COMAND APS!! So 3 5 7 should not do anything. I don't have a PCMCIA card or would try it - anyone have one? Slap a JPG on it and see what it does!

Dyno mode shuts off traction control and electronic LSD thereby creating a locked rear end. It's designed to - funny enough - use on a dyno.

dont matter if you do or dont have it.
ill do this set by step.

1.open the car
2.sit down and close ALL DOORS.
3. put key in pos on. 1
4. hold accept and ok at the same time for 5 - 10 sec (steering wheel)

after you should see a message that say dyno something.

Hmmmm I know it is meant for use on a Dyno, but what do you assume the safety concerns could be whilst driving under the influence of Dyno mode?

Has anyone figured out how to change the MB Star image to the AMG logo on the comand system?

Did anyone try the PCMCIA method?
