How much truth is there in this?
My friend bought a 2009 M3 with DCT. Today he and a C63 went at it having fun and said the C63 could not pass him. The M3 is stock too. I thought it was odd since the C63 has more overall hp and torque. I remember seeing a Speed channel on this and the Benz always faired better on the straight out runs.
I'm just curious more than anything else.

Scientific researchers propose hypotheses as explanations of phenomena, and design experimental studies to test these hypotheses. These steps must be repeatable in order to dependably predict any future results. Theories that encompass wider domains of inquiry may bind many hypotheses together in a coherent structure. This in turn may help form new hypotheses or place groups of hypotheses into context.

1. Did they go from three honks, and who jumped first?
2. Are both good drivers?
3. What tires are on both cars?
4. What speed did they start at?
Etc, etc.
From a dig, with both reasonable drivers the C63 wins. MANY reputable sources have confirmed this time and time again.
Hope it helped my friend

Too many variables to judge
1. Did they go from three honks, and who jumped first?
2. Are both good drivers?
3. What tires are on both cars?
4. What speed did they start at?
Etc, etc.

Stock vs stock s/b a close race. The C63 should win from a dig as previously stated, but from a roll at the right speed the M will hang with it due to much faster shifting and potentially being in the sweet spot of its powerband.
Now throw a tune on the C63 and the M doesn't have a prayer even if it is also tuned.

Here's a SAT and/or GRE test question:
One day in the summer of 2009, a German M3 automobile passed a German C63 automobile while having fun racing on a street somewhere in Virginia, USA. The M3 was equipped with a DCT transmission and the C63 was white.
Based on this information, which of the following statements are correct:
1) All M3 automobiles with DCT will always pass all white C63 automobiles.
2) A M3 automobile with DCT will always pass a white C63 only in Virginia, USA.
3) A white C63 cannot pass a M3 with DCT in the summer.
4) A white C63 automobile cannot pass any M3 automobile with DCT in Virginia, USA.
5) Any M3 automobile with DCT will always pass any C63 automobile.
6) Any M3 automobile with DCT will always pass any C63 automobile in the summer.
7) None of the above.
