Legal in most states except Va. How do you know what a AMG is and dont know what a radar detector is? They have been around since I can remember (I bought a Model T off the showroom floor) and now its standard equipment in my cars. I have a V1 see V1.com
A Radar detector is exactly what it says. It detects radar exactly the same as the Radar Warning receever on military jets except the Radar frequencies are different. Cheaper Car radar detectors only tell you there is Radar energy around. The V1 tells you how many and from what direction the energy is coming from. Also the V1 looks alittle dated however Mike Valentine is a top notch engineer and V1 lets you send yours back in for tech updates. Other companies make you get a whole new receiver when they have an upgrade.
Radar detectors are so common they sell them in gas stations.

Its very funny, but yes radar detectors are illegal. I had neon on my lowrider back in the early 90's. They sold it and cops gave me tickets. Just how it is.
Now this thread is to funny. I cant believe someone has never heard of radar detectors. I dont know how many radar guns are out there anymore. I thought they switched over to laser guns. So you may want to look into a laser jammer. Anyone know what cops use now? Laser or still radar?
