Hahahaha, my fiancee feels the same way. One of our friend got a GT-R and I told her that it's a damn fine car and he bought it for 75K, she laughed and said it's still a Nissan. Women

I always wondered why it wasn't developed/marketed as an Infiniti.

Infinitis are not associated with performance. When I hear the name Infiniti, I think lower class luxury cars as oppose to high performance cars. If they develop a division such as the M, AMG, RS, etc etc then maybe they could have badged it under the Infiniti name.

Yeah, I can see your point. However as previously mentioned, $80K for a Nissan?

Plus if they had launched their performance line with the GTR... that would have catapulted them into the thick of it if not to the head of the pack.

I'm in the same situation I wanted a perfomance oriented "automatic" car so that my wife can drive it as well. The choices left were C63 M3 and the GTR. The wife said I'm not letting you buy a 75k nissan! Even after I argued that she would be the coolest person at work walking away from a GTR in her suit. But that didnt do the trick. I have a moddified Evo 9 and when I test drove the M3 i was fairly disappointed on its lack of torque down low. And thats how we ended up with the c63. Not bad considering i got it for 500 under MSRP with tax and registration included with 14 miles on the odo. The GTR would have been sticker + 10% for tax and registration at least out the door.

I'm on a similar boat as you, the fiancee can't drive a stick and that is why the c63 was a plus for the both of us. I've always told her, she would look pretty badass if she knew how to drive my evo 8, but she was always too scared to learn.

I'm in the process of selling my evo, do you still have yours?

That's exactly what I was saying. Same car with Infiniti X (or whatever symbol they would choose) badge - I think a lot more people would be open to buying it.

Yeah I still have mine... honestly I dont want to sell it lol. But it would be financially irresponsible of me. So far so good shes been too happy driving the C63 she forgot to follow up on the Evo sale.

Here is a pic of it.

I still think its a badass car but if using launch control repeatedly voids warranty then they shouldn't claim their 0-60 numbers when using launch control!

Up close a GT-R is a beautiful car, can't really argue with that.
GT-R Engine> 63 Engine
Nissan<Mercedes
I would never pay 80k for a Nissan, to me simply doesn't make sense no matter how fast it is.

Ok you guys are really making me miss my Evo. I was finally starting to get over it and then you post picks of yours. Now I have to start the mourning process all over again.

Here are a couple picks of my old baby. It had 400 whp it was and still is to date my favorite car.

Funny how we 'evolved' from a 4 door performance car to a bigger badder 4 door

Honestly though nothing can touch the handling of an Evo for its price. Whenever I attempt to take a sharp turn with C63 and I'm quickly reminded of this.

I just met the owner of ESX motorsports. Supposedly he's a big Evo tuner, very nice guy....He was impressed with the 63.

Kinda off topic, but I like the STI much better than the EVO's as far as performance

Maybe that’s because the one I drove (a friend's) had crazy mods.... I don’t really know much about the newer models tho so things may be different now, but man was that STI nutty!

I wouldn’t want to own one but for that price it is unbeatable...

I agree with DaGs on this one as well, the sti also has some looks going for it rather than the evo, IMO.

What chu guys smoking The quality of Mitsubishis are terrible though, I'll never buy another one.

To get back on topic, I rode in my friend's GTR in the backseat for an hour long trip and I almost broke my neck. Not meant for a full sized adult to sit in the back

The ride is rough of course, but it has wicked speed (power delivery seems soo smooth and effortless). He didn't take any curves or anything so I can't attest to the handling.

Just about to pick up my ordered C63.

I still have my STI http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v3...t=P1150002.jpg

and my mitso evo http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v3...lphotos056.jpg

Dont sell your sti or evo if you dont have to, they offer different performance to the merc.

Daaaaam, you must sit in your Benz like its a coupe... haha looking out the back window.

j/k

I’m 6 feet and I myself need to sit pretty far back, making it extremely uncomfortable for anyone sitting behind me... Good thing I rarely use my back seats
