Ticking Noise from Engine
Have had my car for 3 days now, so not quite sure if this is normal or not. It has been there from the start.
Only 200 miles, but there is a distinct ticking/slapping noise that I can hear in the cabin at any stop whether it be in the garage, red light, etc.
The ticking is in rhythm, it is not really loud just annoying, it comes and goes kind of like a fan is switching on and off. When I get on the gas it disappears all together or I just don't hear it anymore.
Maybe it will disappear after a thousand or 2 miles?
Anyone else with the same....

CLK 63 Black Series, 2009 S550, 2011 Range Rover Supercharged, BMW F800 GS Anniv Edition
There have been some valve train issues reported by other 63 owners...AFAIK nothing has been done to fix it and no TSB's issued. My black series has a ticking. Seems to go away after oil temps get nice and hot

Here's a pic of the animal...hope it works. Had to drive it home in the rain and traffic sadly.
Every option + CF interior, except performance package. I think the ride is stiff enough after driving a few days. The exhaust is perfect, can't wait to get on it full throttle.
My biggest and only disappointment thus far....the door pins. They have to be the cheapest looking things ever. I'm getting some AMG CF ones from ebay.

Factory said its normal. that and the plume of blue smoke that come out of the back on stat up sometimes. When it barks to life once in a while it just looks like a 500k mile old pos.
Love that "normal" stuff! The smoke is actually normal for the M156 but I think I have a busted tappet. The motor is set up slightly loose from the factory and the cyl walls are very very hard so running the motor in takes 10k miles. The TSB for smoking and oil consumption says drive the car like an a hole and it should go away.

That doesn't look like an easy job.
Aside, the ticking noise doesn't happen only at startup but, even when my engine oil is up to temp 90-100*C at red lights.....maybe that's just mine.
I found this on youtube, it's similar to the sound I'm describing just definitely not as loud.
