At 3K I got the light. Oil level at minimum. Added 1.6 liters as the owner's manual suggested. I'm only at 4k (miles) now.

Have had 09 for about 4 months/3100 miles and have not had any issues with burning oil.

About 1 month ago at 2400 miles or so had to bring car to dealer for check engine light due to faulty cam sensor (or so I was told) - picked the car back up within 24 hours and it's been running fine since.

Burned up my stock 255/35 18 inch rears within 2800 miles and have since replaced them with 265/35 P Zeros. This is apparently a very common 'issue'.

Overall, I absolutely love the car. I wanted it so bad that I paid sticker for it - and it's still worth every penny.

6750 Miles on the 09 since end of July and have not had to add any oil, but mind you did have it changed at around 1900 miles. Last week when I checked I probably could have added about 1/2 to 3/4 quart but still above the lower end marks... no problems here.

Why is it burning so much oil? I don't think that much oil consumption is normal?

I've had to add about 2 qts so far (at 4K miles rite now). I get the "Check oil level" light @ once a month. Pretty annoying, and if it's considered normal, MB's got some splaining to do IMO...

I followed it to the "T", so that's def not the cause.

I received my car in Sept. 2008 and have gone through close to 2 qts before my LSD and motor oil change @ 1850 mi's. I'm guessing because you're in Florida, your car most likely runs hotter for longer periods of time causing oil to dissipate faster... Just a logical guess because the dam car runs very hot! I may go with the New cooler running thermostat that are out for the C63... In Sept. I might have seen a few warm days (maybe 70's) and the car was throwing out heat like it was on fire. I can't see driving this car in 90+ degrees like this.

That's an interesting theory. It's been pretty cool here the past few months tho (70's). I def noticed this car runs hotter oil temps (anywhere from 208F to 220F+) than my old E46 M3 (which was always @ 210F or less). Still, u would think MB/AMG's engineers would have accounted for this.
