Nope. They're H&Rs. We do development work with them and they're the new height adjustable C63 offering that I'm checking out. So far... Very pleased! Makes the car actually feel lighter, corner flatter and look way meaner. Basically a win on all levels.

Thanks,

Just got my 2 piece rear rotors today and am installing them tomorrow. After checking them out, all I can say is EVOSPORT FTW!!! These things are a work of art. You can't put a price on craftmanship and build quality and Evosport has hit a home run on these rotors. I can't wait to see how the beast performs with 14 lbs of unsprung weight off her rear.

+1...having never changed rotors before I would like to learn how to do it. In particular removing the calipers and putting them back on without worrying about brakes malfunctioning.

I finished the install before I saw the posts about pictures, etc. The install is pretty straight forward. The brake calipers are hel on with two 18mm bolts. The slide off the OE rotor after removing the two bolts. I just let it rest on a small box to the rear of the wheel well. (I did have to unbolt the say bar link to get enough clearance to get a socket on the caliper bolts) Once the caliper is off, just unscrew the torx set screw for the rotor and it slides right off. My car is pretty new so the rotor came off easily. (If the car is older you might need to tap the back side ot the rotor with a dead blow hammer.) The new rotor slides on and gets the same set screw to hold it in place. (I did have to adjust the emergency brake just slightly to get the new rotor to slide on.) With the rotor in place, you just hold the caliper in place and start the two bolts. The bolts get torqued to 25 ft-lbs. Now just mount the wheel and torque the lug nuts to 90 ft-lbs. Repeat on the other side of the car and you're done. Took less than an hour to do it.

I'm going to go out later today and bed the brakes in and will post up my thoughts on the improvement after that.

How can I tell

How can I tell which front rotors I have on my car already. I just assumed I had the performance ones since I had the LSD 155 speed removal etc. But now i'm not sure. If not them I'm excited about the weight reduction all the way around but not excited about the extra grand to get it.

Anyway how can I verify? Do I have to take them off the cat to find out?

Crap I just read the posts again from my computer and it would be 1k EACH for the fronts. OMG that is pricy. Now I really need to know how to check to see if I already have the 2-piece fronts.

Any thoughts on how I can do this?

You said it yourself, they are 2 pieces versus 1.

Do a search on PP there are thousands of posts on it.

Sorry, I am a little Rotor ignorant. So would I have to take them off the car and look at them to see if they are two pieces stuck together?

Thanks for the help.

You don't need to take anything off. Looking through the spokes of your wheel, just check to see if the rotor has a black center hat with bolts (this bolts the separate aluminum hat to the steel rotor) similar to the pic below. If you do, then they're 2-piece:

If the center bell is silver and part of the rotor (casted, no bolts) then it's the standard 1-piece rotor like this:

Thanks
brad
Are you still offering this special package price? Any chance it has gotten any lower?

If I understand this right, getting the package would reduce the unsprung weight by 12 pounds in the front and 14 pounds in the rear for a total of 26 pounds. That sounds very substantial to me.

Simon,

First let me say you rock for the post and the pictures. Second let me say you suck as I now know I have the crappy rotors and need to replace them all. Crap, crap, crap.

OK, so PM me a price for all 4 shipped. I already have on order HRE M49, RE-11's and V3 so I guess when I take the car to have all that put on I'll just to the rotors too. OH, I almost forgot. How much for the SS brake lines as well.

Thanks again for the post. It was very helpful and exactly what I needed.

Correct. Package is still offered at that price. If anything it will go up in the future since OE factory parts only seem to keep going up in price! It's a really good price right now. And the unsprung weight saving is very functional, plus you get the great looks of the 2-piece setup.

Nice, and at 7lbs per corner weight shaved this is a very nice item to add to your C63!! What a lot of people don't understand is the huge impact each lb of weight shaved of a corner unsprung does to a car, this is not *just* 7lbs each corner, some may say.. big wow, it's UNSPRUNG which magnifies each lb exponentially. I would recommend shaving unsprung weight off a car before I shaved weight anywhere else. Good job Evosport!

Thanks! Yes, you are 100% right. It is a shame that most shops dont take the time to examine unsprung savings frist, and more of a shame that it is not explained to customers!

We generally find a 4 to 1 ratio of savings. So, for example, if you save 1lb unsprung, that is like taking 4lbs off of the sprung weight.

So 7lbs each corner on the rear is like taking 56lbs off of the car.

Thanks
Brad

ding ding ding!! This is the truth! unsprung is the first place I look to save weight. This is a VERY worthwhile mod.
