Well I've decided I'm going to take the plunge and swap my Audi rs4 for a c63 AMG however the car I am looking at buying has the old style 08 mirrors which I think are a bit ugly.
So wondered if any of you guys could let me know if the 08 mirrors can be replaced with 09 style ones which suit the car so much better. I've had one mb dealer tell me I can and another tell me I can't!!
Your help would be appreciated so I know whether to go ahead with my purchase!

They can be swapped, but it is really pricey. You need to replace the entire mirror assembly.

looks completely different. Instead of the big indiciator light on the mirror housing its the wing style type, identical to the ones found on SLs.

 

the difference is not much. the 09 mirrors dont fold on its own. the 08 mirrors do

 

The mirrors fold in some markets and not in others. The OP was referring to the design/look of the newer style mirrors rather than the folding capability.

 

I think the new mirrors are not going to be available in the US market till 2010. But I could be wrong.

 

anything can be done for a price - but considering the minimal difference in look and the amount of the cost, I would wait for someone to make an aftrmkt mirror that actually looks different in shape other than just the indicator lights

as for the US - 08 mirrors folded, 09's do not - however in the US we have yet to have one of the new stye mirros delivered
