AMG ME,
I am from Calgary and I went through this scenario last summer and fall. I put down a $1000 deposit in Dec 2007 for an 08 due to arrive in June 08. I passed on that car because of no APP pkg and got 2nd in line for a full load 09. They initially told me I would get the 09 in July. As we went into July they then said August. In August they then said September. So I wait again with the promise I would have a car by the first week of September. Guess what, September 5th and no car, in fact I then find out through a confidential source that my car had not even been built yet! At that point I got an execs phone number at the MB Western regional office. He was a decent guy, said he would look into the situation and would get back to me. He did and I finally took delivery Oct 31. The hold up was because of the factory but I was still annoyed the dealership didnt have more information and answers along the way.
So my thoughts for you are;
If you dont get satisfaction from your dealer, contact MB western region in Vancouver and ask if they can help you out, including finding you the car you want.
Regarding your "non" refundable deposit, unless you ordered an oddball color, any honest dealer would refund it if you passed on the car.
I think your making the right choice to hold out for an APP equipped car. IMO, this car would be very frustrating and only half the fun without a limited slip diff. 450+HP and an open diff =
BTW, you do know that you can now get an APP optioned car without the Carbon Fibre trim, if that is the holdup again.
Good Luck

If my car doesn't come in May. Im going to rage.
I was there the other day and he showed me a print off saying my car is in or slated for being in production. He said it may even be here early. But now I am worried. ugh.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I understand that it may not be the dealer's fault with the delay but what really gets me is their service. No sorrys. No followups. Nothing.
Times are tough and I'm about to buy a luxury car. The least they can do is be honest with me and show me some customer service.
I have thought about calling someone up the chain of command. I think I will take your advice.
And yes I know CF trim is a separate option now.

Hmm, Check with Richmond
Nevin Lau was my salesmen , before i had Eric Chan on Broadway
But Nevin Lau got me a C63 without even ordering and fully loaded
it was because the guy that ordered it went back to china for a bit, so they just re-ordered a new one for him!! hehe!!
But boo what made me sad was that mine doesnt have parktronic even tho its an 09

BTW, the parktronic option is not available for cars being build before Jan.1,2009. But Nevin told me you can always add it for another 1100$

I've got a white with black leather & a black with black leather that will be on the lot in 2 months. Both have Premium & Performance Pkgs.
Sounds to me like you're getting the run-around.
Even if you signed an agreement saying it's a non-refundable deposit, you can get your money back. Legally, they can't keep your money.

It's not really about the money as I am sure I can get it back. I just want the car.
