Two Questions -
Do you know what cell count are in the primary and secondary cats for stock C63?
Why not go with 3" or 2.75" piping instead of 2.5" stock

ones too fast according to CHP!
Anyone local in SoCal willing to do this I will provide free pre and post dyno's and a discount on the product to confirm. We can even dyno on non-biased dyno so there is no hint of trickery.
The 3" and even the 2.75" would create too little back pressure and in fact slow the exhaust flow too much. You want to keep the exhaust velocity up while balancing flow rates. Too small = restriction, too big = too slow.
Also, 3" into 2.5" mufflers would just be a waste.
Thanks
Brad

We have and have not. The problem is that on our test car, we do have pre and post #'s but they are skewed as the car has lots of mods and we changed more than just the exhaust between them. So, net/net, we don't yet have realistic #'s. I would guess based on what we have seen that it is 10ish HP on a heavily modded car. Maybe more on a stockish car.

1. I think that the OE cats are 300cpi, but I have no way of confirming that.

IMHO, anyone who's going to a full race exhaust is probably going to be "heavily modded" all around anyway. Can you share the pre and post dyno graphs anyway, since you've been upfront about "this end-result is only realistic with all of the car's mods" ?

OMG!!! that's so sweet!!! good job on the exhaust system.. i know that its not the end product but do keep us up to date with the insertion of the resonator..

Brad, cool news, and the exhaust sounds mean!

1.) Bump for update on pricing.
2.) Can one purchase just the first piece that mates to the stock manifolds and connects before the resonator?
It appears that this would eliminate both sets of cats, eliminates the need for any cutting or welding (?), and takes care of the drone by leaving in the resonator...which others have recommended.

sorry to bring back this thread from the dead but i got a few questions. Whats the finished result look like? im fully stock and was wondering if i get this race exhaust setup straight through (no primaries secondaries, or resonator) would it throw any cels since i dont have a tune to erase that? also, couldnt one go to an exhaust shop and just ask them to do this for much cheaper than 2500 as stated on evosports website? just an opinion...

Yes, you would get a CEL unless you get a tune to turn it off (which we offer for off road racing use).
Yes you can get an exhaust shop to do it. But they will not use mandrel bends and they will not have done the testing to know where to put the merge nor will they make the x-pipe correctly.
There is real engineering in our parts, they are not just "thrown" togehter.
So, if you are looking for just sound, you can likely get that for a lot less at a corner exhaust shop. If you are looking for performance and sound, you would be hard pressed to build a system like this for much less.
thanks

thank you very much for the quick reply. i obviously wouldnt want to give it to an exhaust shop to try to replicate this, i just got a little curious. (maybe too curious ) haha but anyway, what were the final gains for this? and if it was done on a heavily modded car, about what gains would be seen on a bone stock car. and would i have to pay extra for the remapping to erase the cel issues?

I'm looking for the same thing, I think there would be signficant demand for a mandrel bent, 4 cat elimination pipe (connects manifolds to resonator)...that's $250 not $2500. If I get time, I plan to look around next week with custom exhaust shops and see what I find out. Maybe you can do the same...

If you find one let me know so we can buy it too! Seriously.
You will be surprised to find that even buying mandrel pre-bent tube your cost will be radically higher than $250, then add a proper x-pipe (the angles and manufacturing process is key) and labor.
To compare apples to apples, you should check companies like Burns Stainless.
thanks

This sounds very very good. and I agree, mandrel piping is very expensive..
