Daily Driver

So for those of you who bought the C63 as a daily driver have you ever regretted your decision? The car seems to be a blast to drive on weekends but how is the daily grind with such a firm ride and poor gas mileage? Did you ever say "what on earth did i do?"

Talking daily driver my approach

tangofoxtrot: I purchased the C63 as my weekend car. I lease a Jaguar XF for my long trips during the week (I travel in my Sales job a lot).

It is hard not to drive the C63 during the week though, and I still find excuses to drive it (like to the grocery store and other meaningless trips).

I do not mind the firm ride since I previously had BMW's and my last daily driver was a TT 335i. As for the gas mileage it is a bummer but the smile on my face when playing helps offset this.

I'm starting to miss the E55 less and less now!

Regards

Phil

Actually the ride has mellowed out quite a bit, for me at least. May be its broken in now. No regrets, and anyway its not my weekend fun car.

Bought mine to use as a daily driver. I love it and have no regrets. Of course, my office is 2 miles away from my house so fuel economy is not an issue for me. As a matter of fact I try to go the long way around to at least get the engine to warm up.

I didn't plan on buying the C63 to be a daily driver. Heck, I didn't even plan on buying a C63 at all. Anyway, since taking ownership of it, I have not been able to stop myself driving it. It's a terrific everyday car.

+1 for most of the above.

3400 miles and 4 months of using as a daily driver and have no regrets.

Went out of town for about a week last month and found myself actually missing the car while on vacation. In fact, I couldn't wait to get back from vacation just so I could drive it to work the following day.

Maybe I need professional help

C63 09' LSD traded for 2010 GT-R
Daily Driver, does a great job of dropping off the kids at school. Driving around seeing clients and acting as my mobile office.

I have no regrets making change from my C55 (which was a great combo as well), the addition of bluetooth and 150hp (w/Renntech tune) makes for a happy drive.

Now only if the rear tires would last 15k miles and my blended mileage went from 10-12 to 28mpg this would be the perfect car.

No regrets here either, I pretty much look at it as therapy not a daily driver. Get in the car, turn it on, listen to the cold ignition in the morning freeze, take the car on the road, start her slow, keep the revs under 2500RPM until she warms up, after she has warmed up, switch from C or S mode to M, hold the left Paddle till the lowest gear has been selected, and the rest of the world just disappears.. that is until you leave the car, and life goes back to normal.

I guess that a C63 is mostly a daily driver than a garage queen. Perhaps not in extreme situations, like snow, off roads, but otherwise a DD, I don't see it as anything else.

It's a C-class and a sedan. I can't imagine using mine for anything but a DD. OTOH, if it were a convertible then I'd be more open minded.

Well said!!

I drive mine everyday, including Sundays! I don't want to drive anything else! I drove a CLS the other day and found it slow and floaty. I had to put it's airmatic suspension on the hardest setting just to stay sane. I did not like it one bit. I then got back into the 'mad car' and it was bliss!

I have a business trip coming up and I'm already feeling bad about not driving 'mad car' for that week.

I use the C63 as a DD also. I am coming from a TL and have not found the C63 to be any different from a comfort level then the TL is on my daily commute. The only time I do not drive the 63 on a daily basis is if I know I need to park it somewhere where I may get keyed or door dinged, long trips (don’t want to put the miles on this car if I can put it on a lesser car) or if there is a chance for snow. The one other downside is that when I park it in the garage at work, I do not want to leave for lunch because I don't want to loose my good spot that I find early in the morning and get stuck parking in between 2 cars with little room for error on anyone part when it comes to opening their doors when I get back from lunch.

FWIW, I plow through the snow in my C63 just fine with my winter tires/wheels.
