Characteristics of the 7G are different. I aso understand that Sport mood shifts harder etc etc...what i am saying is sport mood if u floor it and let off before redline at say 6k rpm it will stil shift where as if u have it in "S+ mode" it will not...it will hang at 6k rpm. It does not simply tell u what gear you are in and that is all, the trans dynamics change and are more aggressive than sport mode...try it for yourself and tell me the difference in that and the facelift S+

I usually just put it in S+ and SPORT. I find too much wheel spin with ESP OFF and Manual the shifts are a little inconsistent. Now I love using RS when the surface is completely dry. It has to be used in SPORT and defaults to S+.

Mine just held at the limiter and wouldnt shift until I grabbed the paddle....

No i dont, same yr as yours. That is why I dont understand why it is different me than what you are describing. In my car if I give it 3/4 throttle in sport mode it will stil shift gears even if I dont get to redline...when in sport mode and I click downshift and it is in D1, D2 etc it will not leave that gear until I redline...I can drive around at 6k and it will just hang there...if I try that is just sport mode it will not hang the gear it will shift

We talked about this on Tuesday, but I know that the computer cuts a little power to regain traction when you start slipping, but I'm wondering if it's easier to consistently launch with that method rather than ESP OFF. I had crazy wheel spin the other night.

I've managed some consistent runs using, trans in sport mode & ESP off. With my left foot on the brake I rev it to around 1200rpm & progresively put it to the floor or roll into it. Of course depending on hook up you'll need to expirment with how fast you put it to the floor. The other week I managed 5 runs within a tenth & was pulling 1.95 to 1.97 60' with 275/30/19 General G-Max, not exactly the stickiest tire. Of course I went up in smoke a few times, but hey you'll figure it out

So to get the car into sport mode on an 08 just put the car in esp-sport and make sure its in sport and shift down to where it says d1? And I won't have to do any shifting? Sorta confused. Going to the track Wednesday. Wanna run good times lol.

Then play with your car a little bit before Wednesday lol....yes put the car in S mode then click the down shift paddle and it will say S1....from there u will have perfect shifts at redline every gear unlike just putting it in S mode where it will short shift u

I am curious, does the M3 have the same launch problems as our cars? I think it is disgraceful that a C63 has so much trouble putting its power to the ground. MB has built these with no consideration for the real world driving experience. I have a 2012 sedan.
