Blacking out the Chrome...
What do you think, gentlemen? Yay or nay? The shop is expecting me Monday.
Seems like i've seen alot of AMG s with blacked out grills but untouched window trim. However, I m planning on blacking out the window trim also.
Any advice, opinions, and suggestions are appreciated.
By the way, my car is black.

Black vinyl the window trim that way you can always remove it.
What about a Flat Black (slants)/Gloss Black (chrome part) combo on the grill with the star left chrome or blacked out too. I believe AZN_C300 did this in the C-class forum.

Yea, some good ideas chubbs and Ron Jr. The vinyl in particular. What i ve been hesitant about is the fact that I may not like it in which case removing vinyl would be far easier than the alternative.
I suppose ill give it a shot!

Here's my thread where you can see the vinyl wrapped chrome trim as well as one of my spare grilles. The vinyl is 8 year grade material. If you're in socal, I can hook you up at my family shop, $60. And if you get bored of it, or if something does happen to it, you can always tear it off and re-apply.

I dont even wanna guess how much of a PITA it would be to revert the painted bits back to chrome.

I'm sure there are vinyl places in Florida who can do this for you. If you're looking for vinyl material, I can facilitate that. You can try DIY, but it's better to have someone familiar with it do it for you.
