Is this an official label put on car made after a certain month? My car was supposed to be a March build but now im being told its arrived at the port, which confuses me since it was so quick. I want to make sure if it was a Feb build that it doesnt make a difference if March is a 2009.5 model.

If there is an official 2009.5 model year, that is the one I want.

And is the Build Month associated with the VIN, or just the model year number (10th digit)?

Mine is a march build and already in port, Customs to be exact. Its a 2009.5 build you can tell by the packages on the car. Performance and Premium will say APX and MPX, the X stands for the new 2009.5 packages only available on 2009.5 models.

my car was built 2/25 - so if I missed anything by 5 days im not taking delivery

There are always small running changes. If you are that picky never buy a car as there will be something slightly different in a few months time.

2010 could see new option you never know.

im fine with small changes but not if it was due to the 5 day early production because i specifically asked for a March build (not Feb). I was worried that there was a changeover from February ( i read some rumor about that, thats why)

it wasnt like I said I wanted their first available car and it happened to be a Feb build...i was willing to wait

thx - i think im bent out of shape because Ive been asking for a VIN for over a month, on 3 occasions, only to find out this morning on another attempt, that my car is already here -

trivial to some, but it was important for me to track it from the very beginning...ive told my dealer I may not take delivery - but ill sleep on it

part of me feels like they intentionally pushed up production (said there were no march availabilities alotted to them) and figured I wouldnt know and let the car sit at port for a month until May 1 when I would take delivery -

I've asked that he go back and figure his cost to carry and work out something better for me, or I walk to ray catena, Prestige, or MB Manhattan where I am certain I can now get an even better deal -

As far as I've been able to tell, so far there are 2009-1 and 2009-2 models. Next one will be 2009-3. Never heard of a 2009-5 though.

Sorry, it's all rumor/speculation at this point as far as I know.

How much did you pay for the packages? You can tell by that. The performance package is 2500 cheaper as they took the CF out. If yours is 4k then you got 2009.5.

I am in Canada too, mine is here in 2 weeks. Suppose to be a march build but it was sure quick so maybe it was built sooner.

funny, mine is a 2009-1 with MPX and APP....canada delivery

Mine was supposed to be a March build as well, and now they are saying it's delayed and won't get delivered till beginning or middle of June
