Anyone with A Quaife LSD?

Has anyone installed a Quaife LSD yet? I contacted Quaife, UK directly, and they referred me to Bird's Automotive UK. I contacted Kevin Bird, of Bird's Automotive, UK and he said that in order to ensure correct fit, I would have to remove the rear differential cover and provide two bits of information:

1. Whether it is a 10 or 12 bolt configuration.
2. The stamped MB part number on the stock differential.

Even with this information, he said he still may not get the part right the first time around. So, I'm basically looking for anyone who has done this mod, and if they know the Quaife part number, could they let me know. By the way, I've got a 2009 with Performance Package. Before you jump on me about already having an LSD, I know. I also know that the Quaife LSD provides performance that the stock LSD cannot match. Thanks in advance.

I love this car!

The diff. you're asking about may not be the best choice, if they can't even get you a straight fitment answer. Try the OS Giken super-lock? Should be readily available in the US, Sean is a decent enough guy, and they have the MB fitment available.

As much of an improvement as the Q unit is over stock, I think the OS is over the Q. Just my 2 cents.

I've never heard of that brand. I will do some googling (not sure if that's a word) to find out some more info. Thanks for the tip!

It's Japanese - if you know any JGTC fans or hardcore Supra guys, ask them. They almost all swear by the OS Giken. It is the only diff. on the market (that I know of) that goes to 100% lock - and when we had it in our C63, it was smooth and quiet. No chatter, no whine ... just perfect.

I checked out their website, and they don't list any Mercedes Benz applications. This sounds almost the same as the Quaife as far as fit is concerned. Also, it is a plate type diff. I much prefer the Quaife plateless design.

See if you can find a comparison article? I think Grassroots ran one a few weeks back ...

In any event, I know they have a C63 diff., as well as a diff. for the TTV12 cars - we had them at RENN! I can't imagine we had prototypes or something, but maybe!
