2009 C63 AMG
just ordered my tires

I just ordered the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's.
235/35/19 front
275/30/19 rear

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Potenza+RE-11

I decided to upgrade my rims at the same time. I went with HRE M49 in polished black.

They should make a nice combination. Will let you know how I like the tires once I get them installed and put some miles on them.

C63 09' LSD traded for 2010 GT-R
Since running the OEM fron tires and changing the rears to T1R's in 265/35 I now notice the ESP interfering quite a bit in fast cornering situations. I assume that the different size rears have something to do with it. Any thoughts?

I reset/calibrated the tire pressure sensor just in case it could have been a factor.

Thoughts?

A difference of 10mm in width shouldn't interfere that much. Is it possible the new tires have substantially less grip?

The first time it intervined I thought there was Oil on the road as I was only at about 60percent of potential. It has happenned since then at similar speeds so I am nowhere near the limit of tires.

I just placed an order with my dealer for
Pirelli PZero Nero M&S
Front 245/40/18
Rear 275/35/18

Price quoted OTD is $1050 which is a little more then TireRack.com would be but not by too much that I want to hassle with having them shipped and installed somewhere. Hopefully these get more then the 4k miles the OEM tires did.

Whats the OEM tread wear? My Clk55 has 376trq@3000rpm and have Kumhos ASX w 420trd wear. Almost 15k on rears down to wear bar. I drive it hard.

ARE you sure you didnt do to many burnouts like these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81_dPznjJoU

I changed the rears only to 265/30/18, what a difference a little more rubber can make.

Tires tires tires...

Let's face it.

It's a well know fact that just before realeasing the C63 to the public, Mercedes engineers started to invest heavily in tire company stocks knowing full well that they had just created the worst tire eater in existence.

I'm sure they made a fortune too!

I guess I should be concerned. I've gotten over 8k on mine original set of PZeros and they look more worn than yours. I think I overinflated mine too.

interesting... do you think that if you went +1 on the front tires then the ESP would not interfere? i'm wondering if it is doing this because you only went +1 in the rear and not the front.

Could you please give us an update on the RE-11's?? I am looking at going that route in a few months and was hoping for some feedback.

Thanks for your time.
