For those with front plates, did you bend them when mounting?

For those of you who have front plates mounted on your cars, did you have to bend them in the middle when mounting to make them fit?

If so, did you use two screws or four when mounting?

I had originally wanted to use a nice black steel frame on the front, however, I realized when I went to install it today that I couldn't bend the thick steel frame! So I'm wondering if I'm missing some kind of flush flat mounting bracket or if all front plates have to be bent a little on the C63 to match the center-crease on the front of the car?

Thanks all.

(And yes, I realize that front plates are evil so let's not bog down the thread with that issue plz. )

Uh, he already has the front plate bracket

And to answer your question, yes you just have to bend the plate around the weird angled bracket. Why they made it that way I do not know, I would think they could have made a flat surfaced one. I did not put mine on, but the dealer gave me the bracket anyway and I was puzzled at first too haha.

No offense, but you're confused. The front mount plate bracket that comes with the car is NOT flat, it is angled in the middle, hence his question. He has the angled front mount bracket, but is wondering if they make a flat one for the C63, which I don't know of any.

Ah, thanks. That's a bummer. All of the nice plate frames require a flat surface. The angle really throws a wrench in my plans at hiding the front plate. Grrr..

The end result for all those that care.... It was a real PITA too since we couldn't get he screws to "tap-in" correctly. A friend had to break out his drill to pre-drill the holes.

For those with front plates, did you bend them when mounting?-1240519214758_03941.jpg

I know it's not as pretty as a clean front bumper, but the cops where I live are trigger happy about front plates. I would have liked to have used a thicker front plate frame too, but I needed one that bended so this was the best I could find.

Why not bend the front plate and hook it with twisties or something below? No drilling no mess, except that you might have to cut a part of the plate off to make it fit.
