Buyer potentially turned off by Seats (Australia)

Greetings from Australia.

I'm very close to finalising my order for an MY10 C63 and in the lead-up to the purchase I've done a lot of work reviewing the numerous posts on this forum, so thanks for the help.

I love everything about the car however I'm a larger guy and Im finding the side bolsters of the seat too tight, Im 100kg's (220 pounds) so obviously not small however Im pretty sure I'm not the largest guy to own (potentially) a C63.

I will be in the car at least 2 hours a day so comfort is important.

Question

1. Do the seats "Loosen-up" over time ?

2. Has anyone had them re-upholstered ?

Thanks in advance for reading my post

Regards

Dylan

Hi - I'm in Adelaide and like you, am a larger person. In fact - actually weight 15kg more than you.

The seats on the Aust spec C63 have an electric side bolster that is expandable i.e. they can bemade narrower or wider around your sides and if anything are quite comfortable. I have had my car now since September and over time the leather seats have become softer and seem to mould to suit my frame better hence if this is your only worry, I would suggest that it should not be an issue.

Have travelled 5500kms by now in the car and still loving every minute of it. Tyres are the only gripe and I have at least 2mm before the TWI.

Best of luck with your decision.

I'm 6'1" 245 lbs (working to trim that now), and I think they are very comfortable. Granted, when I have to dig for my wallet or I carry a concealed pistol its a little less comfortable, but I think they great and part of the reason I selected the car.

The height point is relevant. Im 6' and I must admit for a 4 door sedan there is very little head room.

I'm 6'8'' (203.2 cm) 225 pounds and I'm comfortable so there isn't any reason why you shouldn't be.

nope, i drive with the seat reclined a bit so I'm fine on the head room, i have about 1/2 an inch before the head liner, good thing my head fits where the indent is for the sunroof tho but it sucks for whoever is sitting behind me LOL

Hi All,

Thanks for the responses.

Has anyone modified the seats to gain extra width or noticed i they naturally get wider over time ?

I think so.

I'm 5'10 and about 86 kilos and the side bolsters seem to have gotten a bit wider over time. When I first got the car I made sure the side bolsters were completely deflated but now, I find I want to inflate them just a bit to better hold me in the seat.

That all said, these are the BEST car seats I have ever sat in! I sort of wish I could get one of them to be my office chair, albeit with armrests!
