Anyone noticed...
so driving home today i turn to look out the window and I noticed the door lock knobs (the actual knob u pull on to unlock the door)
anyone else taken a look at how cheap these things look?
Im pretty sure on other cars these screw right out, does anyone know about after market knobs we can get to match the chrome door handles?

Believe they're the same on all 204s, fronts are screw on, rears are ball-socket assembly. You can replace the fronts easily enough with any 203 or 204 aftermarket pins, but the rears will require a bit more customizing. Even the Brabus pins for 204 don't fit in the rears without work. I've seen epoxy and pressure pin solutions for the rears.

Pins are for a w203 the fronts are easy just screw out the plastic and screw on the metal. As AZN said the rears are a PIA. Search the W204 sub fora for door pins.

I don't particularly care that they're cheap-looking, just that it doesn't go all the way down when in the locked position. Will think about it, but probably in for a set.

Thanks to this thread I am having new Brabus door pins installed Saturday. More expensive then ebay of course. But I don't want to take us the rear door panels myself. Will post pics afterwards.

The knobs are the same on the GLK as well. I hate them because "if" you decide you want to drive with the windows down and your arm resting on the upper part of the door, the pin will poke into it. The reason they stick so high up even in the locked position is for safety. MB designers figured it would be best to have them easily accessible if you were involved in an accident and were on your roof or submerged in water. Understandable, but still ugly as hell!
