Go S63?
OK, so as some know, I have a KLEEMANN K2 C63 which I adore. But recently I acquired an '09 Porsche Twin Turbo modded to 650HP.
I just received an offer to purchase an '09 S63 at a very, very attractive price, with a very, very attractive trade-in on my C63.
Considering my TT now serves as my rocket, and the C63 is still awesome, but small, and let's face it, not luxurious, seems to make sense to balance the automobile portfolio.
So, if the $ were right, how would one weigh in on trading out of my C63 for the S63?
Considering the C63 is a TT porsche with 4 doors-IMO-I'm thinking the S63.
Thoughts?

the c63 is a million times more fun than an S63, but the S is much more prestigious and is still quick.
so, i'd go for the S depending on your age
if you're under 25, keep the C

As long as you like the way the S63 drives, it might be a better combo for you.
For me, the S is kinda big and I think I'd slosh around in the driver's seat and not feel very connected to the car, which might leave me bored quicker. That "getting bored quick" thing doesn't apply to you though, does it? Sarcasm, I'm kidding! Go take a test drive and report back!

Having driven both on track with ample seat time in both, you are dealing with two different beasts, the C63 os much more nimble and track ready as the S63 has awesome power but could scare the crap out of you as you are approaching turns, its weight will hinder the cornering and acceleration. It is an awesome car, dont get me wrong, but I did have an "off" on the track as this car was totally unpredicatable. Your choice, but very different cars.

Do it. One for comfort and one for sport. Although, the S feels like a strecthed limo compared to the C with substantially more body roll. The S is by no means a handling car compared to the C and the TT. If that's cool with you, do it.
yes, i have driven the S63 for thousands of miles.

I personally can't think of a better pair of cars than the C63 and the TT for me. I've never felt so at peace with my cars where something else was not nagging at me to buy. As you can see from my car history, that's a big statement.
I remember when you posted this above last month Now we see why your signature & cars owned is 10-miles long
Are you tall? Do you entertain clients or business partners ever? If so, the S63 is a great choice! For fun though the C63 kills it IMO.
You can't make a bad decision any way you choose, good luck! You have some great options.

I think you should be asking this in the W221 section. As for me, the only S AMG i would get is the S65, if you just want luxury/speed i say S65 or S550 but thats just me

Setting that aside, they are 2 different beasts. The allure of a big luxury sport sedan is strong, but I feel so very well connected to my c63.

Wow to me this is a no brainer... GET THE S63! You already have a fast small car, now get the luxury thats fast! I love my C63, but there's a reason why the C is 60,000 and the S is 150,000.

Go for the S63! I think the TT will serve you great as your sports car and let's face it.. a C63 is, whatever we say, a C-class.
I may have second thoughts about changing to a non-AMG S class, but not on the S63 AMG.

Taylor, LOL no calling out going on, just busting some *****. Much respect for your fleet, as most have said already you can't go wrong either way. The comfort of the S63 sure would be alluring, knowing you have the TT in the garage for quick blasts around town.

I'd say go for it, but not because it's an AMG. Personally, the S63 sucks where it should be the strongest, and that's highway speed acceleration. It's midrange torque is pretty low. I would rather opt for a used 65 or even 600 than the 63. But seeing how you already have the turbo and if you're looking for something more comfortable/prestigious, the S63 for a good price would be a solid choice.

How good is the deal? If you don't mind me asking
The closest car to S63 (from your sig) was probably E55. Did you like it?
If yes (nice interior, comfortable power, lot of space etc) then go for S-class
If not (too heavy, size, body roll etc) then stay with C63

Wish I could share the price, but this is an unpublished deal. With that said, anyone interested in such a deal is welcome to PM me and I can send you my MB sales rep info.

Thanks for all the comments. Of course the fair thing to do now that there seems to be some consensus (me included) is to drive it--never driven an S class, much less the S63.
A used S65 would be terrific, I'll check availability and pricing on those as well.
However, I'll be driving my C63 and S63 back-to-back. There's a reasonable chance I'll stick with my beloved C63.

Wow!!! Your list of prior cars can't keep up with reality... Didn't you trade a NA 911 for the turbo? Didn't even realize your turbo was 650 hp... If the deal is good enough, this is a no lose proposition.. As others have said, I would consider a used S65 as well. I tried to talk my friend into that prior to him buying his wife a S63 but they wanted a new car.. Car-wise, I am so jealous of your "predicament". Have fun choosing...

What's great about the 650hp TT is that I don't need the extra power in the S65. I'd be going for sport luxury sedan.
I'm just concerned that I'll feel way too disconnected with the S63. I may just hang with my C63...we'll see.

Just get the S class. If you loved E55 and still loving every minute of C63 then you would probably love the S. Don't get upset by the first impression behind the wheel of the S class, they are really different to drive and you have to get used to them. You have had some very interesting "sporty" cars, now it's time to take it to the next level! And don't forget you can always come back to the C class (say MY 2011 or 2012)

Get the S63. Not going to be as fast or as fun, but you already have your P-Car for that. If the price is right it's a no brainer imo.
PS. Unless you're in your 20's. Young people look retarded in s-class, or 7 series.

Yup. You're welcome to check out my car & then make me an offer if you'd like. I'll probably decide Monday if I'm going with the S63 or not. We could meet @ the dealership in Oakland (Baum Blvd.) and if we proceed, we can run the deal through Rahal.
