"Honestly,"..."To be honest,"...
Just a quick observation...
Why do so many members here preface their posts with "honestly," or "to be quite honest" unless they're LYING all the other times they don't say this phrase?
It's everywhere. If you post with the phrase "Honestly" or "to be honest" without thinking about it, stop for a second and ask yourself why you would ever say that in the first place. It means you're NOT being honest and you know it, except for this time

Gosh, since everyone's being so honest in this thread, I guess I should come clean and speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth (so help me, God): my real name isn't "SebringSilver" and I once forgot to return a library book until 22 years later.

Honestly,
I dated someone at the age of 18 that was 16, which was illegal. Her mom was cool with it though. Currently, my wife is about 4 years older than me.
I used to be rather addicted to ****, but I started gaming and got busy with work in my college years. I still do both, but in more moderation of course.
It's a start.

Hans Delbruck is a brain in a jar, in the Mel Brooks comedy classic, "Young Frankenstein."
Honestly, Seriously, FWIW, That being said.... I think they're just harmless phrases that go around the net infecting everybody's posts. Maybe people subconsciously use them so their posts blend in with accepted protocol. Kind of like I use the name "Hans Delbruck."
