C63 Vs. F430
My brother has a Ferrari F430 in Silver with 22in wheels in the rear and 20in wheels up front. He went out of town for 2 days and let me have the car while he was gone...
All I can say is WOW
Don’t get me wrong the C63 is an amazing car, but the F430 is on its own level. Regardless of the speed, the car is just absolutely stunning in every category.
So the first thing I did of course was see how my C63 held up against the F430... I just needed to fulfill my curiosity. I did almost every test possible, 0-60, 0-120, 30-120, etc.... Unfortunately the Ferrari won every time, HOWEVER the C63 was NOT far behind at all! From a dead stop in the 0-60 and 0-120 test the Ferrari pretty much destroys the C63 off the line. BUT from a roll the C63 hangs in there and the Ferrari doesn’t quite jump as far. I have a video but unfortunately it was not my camera so I will try and get those asap...
The handling and braking on the F430 is just phenominal, it has 2 calipers on the rear rotors!! The braking on the C63 was almost just as good though, it really wasn’t a huge difference as I thought it would be. BUT the handling IS a huge difference, the F430 just sticks at ANY speed, where the C63 always wants to slide sideways and throw the rear end of the car out.
The biggest difference is the transmission. Our transmission is just SLOW in comparison. The shifting in the F430 is firm and instant when you press the shifting pedal. The C63 has a terrible lag, and I would pay a lot of money to improve this part of our cars. This is the ONLY thing that the C63 is missing IMO.
I know that it isn’t a fair comparison but I was given the car for 2 days so I had to see what would happen. There is over a 100k difference in price so that alone pretty much sums it up.
Anyways, here are some pictures I thought you guys might enjoy, and I will post that video as soon as I get my hands on it.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Awesome review...thanks for the writeup. You say the F430 destroys the C63 off the line, can you explain why? Does it just hook up better, traction issues, etc?
But yeah, I would expect the 430 to pretty much outperform the C63 in every category, but I'd like to see how well a modded C63 would fare against a stock 430. Should do really well I would imagine.

One of my biz partners has it in red. He drives it in when the weather is nice. Once, we had a homeless lady buzz our intercom just to tell us it was a beautiful car and she wanted to know if it was ok to look but she wouldn’t dare touch it. We have surveillance in our outdoor parkade. Needless to say we were all amused and watched to make sure she didn't touch.
I’d take a SL65 AMG Black Series though.

My brother is actually selling it in the next few weeks for either a Porsche GT2 (new), Murcielago LP640 (used), or Ferrari 599 (used)

I am trying to convince him to get the 430 Scuderia Coupe or Spider... I love the V8...

So somebody else drove your car while you were driving his car? Or all these were assumptions from the seat of the pants?
That is probably my next ride in a few years. :o

Ferrari is definitely on its game from the performance side. If you get the opportunity to drive a Scuderia, the shifting is even more brilliant than the standard car.

Yes, a phenomenal car, to be sure... and at $200k+, it should be.

Well it definitely is an amazing car, but it is NOT one of the best. In fact it is the slowest and cheapest production Ferrari, plus its only a V8 while almost every other supercar is a V12 or V10...

You have no idea the kind of woman that thing attracts... I went down to SouthBeach and I didn’t even have to say much, pretty much just jump in and I had 2 girls in the car in a matter of minutes! Squeezed in the front seat

Great post, thanks for sharing and for the pics.
As you already mentioned, after driving an exotic, alot of other cars feel so mundane in comparison. Its not really the sheer speed, its the visceral experience. The sound, the driving position, etc etc.
