Iphone 3g os 3.0 MB bluetooth
Just a quick question regarding MB blue tooth. I have paired for a full phone use successfully.
was wondering if also I can pair for playing my music via blue tooth ? I was searching for devices and my iphone showed me MB BT, then when I tried to pair with it, it was not there anymore!! I guess that it was another car blue tooth next to me.

IPHONE 3G OS 3.0
I am not sure... but from what I understood the bluetooth stereo in iphone os 3.0 will not send music to mono receivers such as regular bluetooth hands free car audio. I am a lucky owner of W204 and I'm so hoping to be wrong in this. Please HELP!!!

From an engineering point of view:
"stereo bluetooth" requires the A2DP profile of bluetooth. This, MB I believe does not have enabled, at least not from the factory.
However, more than likely, the bluetooth chipset MB is using in their system, should support A2DP because its pretty much standard on all chips. It just needs to be software enabled. MB can do that with a software upgrade, or aftermarket can do it.
Cliff Notes; Possible but not likely supported in stock form, even though it can be rather easily.

So what should I do then? I got iphone paired with the car. It works just fine. The Voice memos new application and hands free car audio works ok but when I start playing music on the phone it's played by the phone alone. The car speakers stay silent. I can't swith the music to the car audio. Is that beacuse the music is stereo and the other applications and phone calls are mono?
Anybody?

Mac OS3.0 does supposedly provide stereo Bluetooth via a car kit but it is not clear how to achieve this.
In my car I have a Mercedes Benz Bluetooth kit that allows hands free via bluetooth but when I play music via the iPod application I do not get to choose between the iPhone speaker and the car speaker. It plays from the iPhone speakers. I tried to 'trick it' by selecting MB during a phone call. This resulted in music being played via the car speakers simultaneously with the phone call. The sound was crappy - perhaps because it was mono only. When I hung up the phone call the music reverted to the iPhone speakers

Car needs a software upgrade that probably does not exist. Try to find another phone that uses A2DP profile (like a Nokia) that is known to support stereo bluetooth audio. If that phone doesn't work with the car either, then its a vehicle side issue. If it does, then its an iPhone issue.
Sorry, its pretty petty and dumb, but the "standards" don't always cooperate with each other. MB isn't forced to support full A2DP, and neither really is Apple. Unless both phone and vehicle fully implement A2DP you're hosed.
