So, never-mind my measly (412WHP) 515HP RENNtech C63; explain this one to me...
A friend of mine just had his '10 GT-R custom tuned with the Cobb AccessPort (std. Cobb AccessPort GT-R tuning map + then custom map tuned @ a local tuning shop)...
Stock: 434AWHP...the tuner said this is the highest he's seen ANY GT-R dyno!
Tuned: 514 AWHP, 484 lb-ft AW TQ!!!!!
My friend is not b.s'ing either; this is what the dyno read and it was a Mustang Dyno. I think that's some crazy ***** right there and he's got himself a 640+HP Supercar now that should probably run in the 10's in the 1/4 mi.. What do you guys think?

You are aware that the 2010 has the "LC2," which will not allow the GT-R driver to disengage the traction control while engaging the LC? The issue of the '09 transmission failure is now over, and even '09 GT-R owners can get a s/w update for the LC2.

Each car has its merits, but there is no reason to insult Japanese people with racial slurs because of a car. That kind of mentality is actually very scary. It would be the same as calling anyone driving a German car a ****.

Would like to see a video of a STG1 C63 vs a pure stock GTR. That should be an interesting race.
I drove my friend's 2010 GTR extensively (in fact we switch cars once a while) all i can say is it feels like a tuned aftermarket car. The suspension ride like coilovers which gives the car a extremely stiff ride and puts a lot of pressure on the chassis. Theres a lot more i wanna comment about that car compared to GTR but i don't wanna go on and on.
However one comment my friend with GTR give me everytime he drives my car is that C63 is probably one of the best daily driver money can buy and will still race exotics in straightline and take some very high speed corners. so take it for what its worth.

Good point. To expand on that, does every Lexus IS F driver sing karaoke every night until 2 am (way too loud, I might add)? NO! Of course not, only my neighbour does that.

If you analyse velocity-time graphs, the truth is simply that if you can leave a corner faster than the opposition like a GTR, you leave them with a lot to do in terms of acceleration later on, which then leaves them with more speed to wipe off at the end of the straight. People complain about a Nissan GTR's mass, but KE = 0.5mv^2. Hence the amount of work the brakes do is only directly proportional to mass but is proportional to the square of that extra velocity that the opposition needs to catch back up. Even then the extra speed means they have to brake earlier, so they're left trying to make it up in the turns, which puts strain on the tyres and once again we see that centrifugal force = mv^2/r. So directly proportional to m but proportional to v^2 yet again. So it's very difficult to corner faster without cheating with downforce or slicks.
Traditionally with everything technologically even; with conventional drivetrains and transmissions and moderate power outputs, weight has been the main enemy. With non-classical active drivetrains and dual-clutch transmissions, whilst weight is still an enemy, we see that somewhat paradoxically, velocity, or rather the need for higher velocity - as induced by RWD, street-legal tyres and manual gearboxes - becomes a greater enemy wrt the equations for KE and centrifugal force/centripetal acceleration.
All of a sudden that extra weight doesn't seem like such a problem when it's traction and DCT advantage at the start of straights has other cars accelerating, braking and cornering their tyres off just to stay in touch. It's that extra 5mph that the GTR puts on at the start of straights and the DCT that puts area (representative of distance) under the v-t graph and does the damage against cars like the ZR1. The ZR1 catches up eventually but by then it's time to brake for the next corner and even then the GTR seems better than most cars on the way into corners. So the ZR1 can out-accelerate and achieve higher peak speeds and cornering g all day long but the GTR will make it up on corner exit and entry. People will remain confused because there are no measurements for the latter and all they see is a car that laps ridiculously fast but seems to have decent, yet not spectacular, peak speeds and cornering g.
Motorsport is not about peaks, it's about averages, i.e. the average speed on straights and the average g across the full length of the corner. More importantly, it's not about speed, it's about time. Roll-racing has broke people's brains and the emphasis has moved from ETs in quarter and mile runs to trap speeds, with some vague logic about them being more indicative of a cars true potential. True potential for what? To morph into an exocet missile at the end of a straight and crash into a wall. That's useful. People should look at v-t graphs in the likes of Evo and Autocar and see for themselves just how useless achieving warp factor 8 just before you brake is at putting area under the v-t graph.

Nissan GT-R cobb/midpipe/ic piping/wastegate actuators/tials
I knew that would spike a few jap lovers. Just had to do it. Why would any idiot pay almost 25k (CDN) more to save 0.1 to 0.3 seconds 0-60 time? That time is all but erased with a $1500 ECU tune. Sure its a great track car, but, where I live the roads aren't tracks, they're roads. Japs can't compete with the Germans, you'll see. Those turbos will cost you big bucks in the end. You can swear at me all you want but you'll see.
And I brought this back from the dead.

For those that like the GTR so much, why dont you just buy one? Of course you'll just be driving another really fast Nissan in the street.

I think that most of us did.
I guess that a fast Nissan makes about as much sense as a fast C-class........go figure.

You cannot deny the shear power and "bang for your buck" of Godzilla. They may not have the quality of an MB or BMW German driving machine, but for $80k, you can OWN just about every friggin car on the road...that's pretty good in my book! Nissan or not (and yes, they could've badged it an Infiniti if they wanted to), it's one awesome car! And, if a 1-year-old GT-R would depreciate in value like the AMG's depreciate, I would be driving a GT-R instead of my C63 AMG...sorry, but true, my friend.

Hey my friend, you know me, and I respectfully disagree with you here. Why the hate on the GT-R...why not give it the respect it deserves? Just because it's a Nissan, come on now. Both my brother and one of my buddies each have a '10 GT-R; my brother's is stock and he absolutely loves it (his other car is a Lotus Elise and he just ordered some new Ferrari), and my friend's is one of the fastest (slightly) modded GT-R's in the state of Florida...runs the 1/4 mi. in 10.4 sec. @ 132mph!!! These cars are absolutely SICK...stock, and when slightly modded, they are simply un-fuking-real!

btw -- I used to have 2 Infiniti vehicles, and I actually thought the quality was quite up to par with the German cars, and virtually no issues unlike my BMW 335i.

FAIL thread is FAIL! both the gtr and c63 are amazing cars. I respect all cars that deserve respect so everyone should stop feeding the trolls that lurk in this forum. Everyone knows the GTR is a great car and so is the c63 end of story.

For what it's worth, I think the GT-R makes a great stablemate to a C63.

I disagree with you about the quality of ANY Japanese car vs a German car. For example, I used to have an LS460L 08 model fully loaded MSRP was $84,000 back then. Amazing Lexus, very stable, beautiful interior, had a lot of technology and gadgets (that are usually optional in German cars) including the ability to park by itself. Driving feeling and overall quality of the car was below the S-class or a 7 series (have never driven the A8 so can't tell) IMHO, but that's probably the reason why it was traded for an S550.

Well maybe I just want the REAL skyline with the steering wheel on the right and a true manual gearbox
