My system was basically to go pull about 20 dealers with inventory off Autotrader, especially those that still have 5+ in stock. I sent them each an email and said that I would be buying from whoever had the very best discount, regardless of color/option, etc. with the exception that I didnt want a red car, otherwise open. Several came back with the $15k + USAA $1k = $16k off MSRP... many wouldnt match that, no one was willing to beat it.

Edit, someone arrived at the dealership before my appointment with them, and stole it from under my nose..Oh well, the search continues.

Eh, you don't want a "base" C63 AMG; that's kind of defeating the purpose of having an AMG anyway.

it is with great regret, that I have to post this, but..WOW, MBZ dealers as a whole are not very honest whatsoever. I was lead down many paths, only to find dealers flat out lying to me about what they would offer. The ONLY deal that was straight was at Valencia MBZ, however I lost the car by an hour (I watched the guy essentially take delivery), I'm sure he will show up here in MBW. The other dealers, South Coast, Calstar, MBZ Laguna Niguel, and worst of them all Fletcher Jones MBZ, were ALL very shady, and promised the world but did nothing but waste my time. Anyhow, this was my experience, your experiences may vary.

I'm sorry to hear that Brian. If you do not have a trade to work into the deal, you may want to consider out of state dealers. Perhaps the money will not be going away until all of the 2009's are gone?

I had bad experience with Laguna Niguel too. They always told me they have good news for me and asked me to be there. Then told me I can pick up the car anytime at the price they want to offer.. I even didn’t try Fletcher Jones because of bad reputation.. That’s why I asked referral from here to reduce the risk. Anyway, I know there is one without PP at MB of Encino about three weeks. You can check it out and if it is the one. I might be able to help a bit on that one.

I took delivery last night from James Griffin from Euromotors Bethesda. He brought the car to my home, and everything went as planned. Definitely one of the better sales experiences to date.

Desmo996 and I took delivery from South Bay Mercedes. I believe he is quite satisfied with the exception of them drilling the front lic holder. I was very pleased with the entire transaction. We flew in on a Saturday where they were waiting for us at the airport and we drove it back in the afternoon after doing all of the paperwork.

Thanks guys, Encino huh? hmm yes maybe worth investigating. I am going to keep trying to see if I can get someone to level with me, and give me a proper and straight up deal. No trade, I *was* thinking about dumping my 335i, but I think I'm going to hang on to it, and just buy the C63 anyways as a separate car, so that when the C63 is down for the parts we are going to develop for it, I have a fun car to drive still.

Brian,

Do you have to buy a C63 AMG locally, or at least in the same state? The reason I ask is I bought my car from an out-of-state dealer, and although I waited a week to receive the 2nd keyfob, the rest of the transaction was easy and virtually painless...they received the signed paperwork form me and the bank check on a Thursday. Then, they put my C63 AMG on a transport truck the next day, which drove my car to my front door on that Saturday! And, btw I did get my '09 C63 AMG at $13k off MSRP which included shipping at n/c.

I just heard through one of my good freinds who owns a performance upgrade bussiness in ct. He has a client who just bought an 2010, ordered unit and got $6500 off MSRP! The deals are not going awa!

I anticipate in certain geographies 2010's will be anywhere from $3k - $6k off MSRP. Even back before the MB trunk money, people were getting $5k-ish off last fall (like I did). What we probably won't see are the $12k - $15k off MSRPs on the 2010s at least for a long while.

Didn't MBUSA also raise MSRP by $1k for 2010s?

May sound a bit odd, but I try to support my local business here in CA. Being a fellow business owner I try to keep as much business as close as possible. Who knows, maybe I'm a fool? I might just have to explore my options out of the state if things don't pan out.

Yes and $6500 off a C63 AMG which is has an MSRP of ~$69k is an offer at close to invoice pricing. Any way you look at it, the $7,500 MB mfgr-dealer rebate helped many of us to get an '09 C63 AMG for well below invoice. However, MB may decide to offer the rebate again in the summer of 2010.

Well, that's certainly very noble of you, but many will argue that you should 'do whatever is best for you.' G/L.

Same here. I was annoyed that I had to leave sales tax money in CA (flew down and drove back) and not in NV where we need it. But we only have one dealer in Vegas; Fletcher Jones, and I think I do not need to explain further.

How is 6k the same as 15K?

Yes, we will see discount's on these cars just like all cars. MB has a huge markup. The dealers have a lot of room to play. But you will not see 14-15K off MSRP until the end of 2010 and that’s a big maybe based on sales. Im sure the dealers are being smart this time and not loading up on inventory like they did with the 09's.

Be thankful you got your C63 for what you did because I don’t think we will see a deal like that again for a long time.

looking for a good deal

Am I too late?? I am looking for a fully loaded black/black fully loaded c63 at discounted price. (Black/Black, Premium 2 Package, AMG Performance Package, iPod, Multimedia Package and AMG Leather Package). I know that this car has MSRP of ~71k, but I am trying to squeeze this in my budget, which is 55k OTD. Can someone hook me up w a dealer you know?

Not going to happen on a 71K MSRP. 58K at best right now. You missed the big money. There is still money if you can find an 09. But for the car you listed expect to pay 58-60K or more.

Ouch.. this is hurting.. knowing that c63 went on sale this much, it would be hard for me to pay close to full amount on 2010 model.. just curious, would they have this type of sale every year around summer time? was this something unusual for MB?

Rare from what I hear. Blame it on the economy and dealerships ordering more than they could sell and not anticipating having so many left over.

You better believe they wont make the same mistake in 2010. I bet they will be hard to come by for a while.

So my opinion is no, you wont see this sale again next summer. Ya never know though!
