Why did you choose the C63 over other brands of MB's?
Just curious as to why some members of the C63 forum chose their C63 over other types of amg's like the clk or the new e63 amg?

E63 wouldn't be out in time before my lease was over, CLK63 didn't have any back seats, S63 is way to big for me after owning an S.

value for money for me. Price vs rest of 6.3 AMG range is cheapest by far. In Australia you get
C63: $157k
ML63 $180k
E63 $240k
CL63 $380k
SL63/65 $400-500k!!!!!!!!!

Because I'm poor.
But seriously, I can't afford anything more expensive than a C63 as a recent college grad. Although I don't really care for much of the other "bigger" AMG models other than the SL 63/65/65 Blk Series. The higher end AMG models look nice but they are way too big to be true sports cars. I think I would still buy a C63 over them even if I had the money.

C63 has the best bang for the buck hands down. Its also small and light compared to the E and S class and I consider it more "Sporty" for those reasons. I come from an STi and the C63 was the perfect upgrade for me...the same if not more performance/sportyness of the STi with all the luxury I could ask.

I had an E55, and knew the new body was coming out. CLK63, if you mean the Black Edition, there are better real sports cars out there for less money. M3, the sedan just didn't look as good, to me, as the C63. Then when I test drove the C63, I was blown away by the power and that exhaust note, and it handled very well. My parents have an S63 and I don't feel like I'm old enough to drive one of those!

+1. Coming from a 911, all MB's are like driving land yachts - but the C was the lightest/sportiest AMG I could get with 4 doors (the other reason I left the Porsche - no room for 2 full size car seats).

i dont have a 63 yet but im leaning that way. here is why
if money was no issue i personally would perfer the new E63
other cars i considered
older E63
the older 63 seems a little dated to me after test driving the C63 and the exhaust simply can not compare still a possibility however
RS4
only manual and i cant do that. but sweet interior and classic smooth lines
Ms
dont care for the interior or exterior looks but i love the transmission
CTS-V
is the only other car im considering in the price and performance range however i have always wanted a benz and im a little skeptical of how the build quality will hold up. but it seems to be an awesome car a little cheap looking in some areas.

Manual is actually really fun and really easy to learn,, so don't rule a car out based on that. And it doesnt matter how many forums you read or reviews you go through it is all about that test drive, If you truly don't like how a car feels then you most likely never will. Go with your gut... Btw have fun testing them all it will be a fun day or two

Pure impulse, I should had purchase a Porsche, like someone said the C63 is a younger generation car, as reflected in this forum. Now with the economy in a slump trades are worth nothing. I guess I just have to drive it.

i guess it is towards the new generation so to speak. i don't own one but am so interested in it because of sound, aggressive looks and all that comes with it. The only 2 other AMG's i would be interested in , although it is doubled the price, would be a cl63. i have always loved the way they look on the road and the way they are presented and the clk black because it just looks like a joy to just drive.

yeah you should have bought a Porsche, you sound unhappy with your AMG, but you should get a Porsche soon before they start showing up with the VW stamps on the parts.

It looks like it, I am an American over here in Germany for the USAF and its in the German news everyday, right now it looks like Porsche may go bankrupt. I believe they have only enough funds to pay their employees for the next several weeks,,,, sound familiar,,,,

Didn't VW have some sort of percentage in Porsche already, but it was a very low number and this is just now becoming a full takeover of ownership? Please correct if i'm wrong.

VAG and Porsche have always worked together, since the creation of Porsche. But if this thing happens VW will owne Porsche outright. Back in the day when MB gave Porsche the contract to build the 500E, the rumor was that MB almost took over and bought Porsche back then and then the Boxster was born which was a money making machine and kept them out of money trouble. Mercedes and Porsche have worked together before ie R&D which is mainly not known publicly. Then right up the street from the big two in Stugart is Audi in Neckarsulm. And Porsche and Audi have had strong relations in the performance branch in the past.I have been to Porsche numerous times in the past even being a part of a freelance contract that lasted 6 months and the place is small and their cars are mainly hand built which they produce small numbers, thats probably why they are trying to come out with more different modells over the last several years.

1. Price to performance ratio. I think the best deal going since the 2006 STi.
2. Nothing like a big block NA V-8. Performance and sound.
3. You can do mods, but it's pretty much a beast to start with.
4. Designed from the ground up by AMG, vice taking an existing car and modding it.
5. How about those seats!!
6. Not too big, so not too heavy.
7. Stealth factor.
If $$$ were no option, I'd probably get a 599 GTB or an Aston Martin..
