Can't locate C63 with Perf package
I'm in the mid of trying to take the big discount advantage of the '09; however, my dealer here in NJ cannot locate any Black or White one with PP. First of all, do you know if this is the case? I have heard out of state dealers still have quite a few left. Second, if using the C63 as a DD, how comfortable is it with the PP? I know more or less a personal choice, but is PP really worth it or it does make a big improve to the car overall? Thanks.

hmm good question, im at NJ, and just got my white C63 w/o PP. the ride is very stiff, so i guess if you have PP, it will be even worse to drive around NJ and NYC. PP is great, for the LSD, and maybe the braking performance will be lil better due to AMG braking compound i guess. but even tho my c63 doesnt have PP, it is a great car. get it if you can find, otherwise if you really want LSD, get an aftermarket one.

Just picked mine up! Long Island, New York here. I had my dealer locate a PP car for me. Definitely worth the wait!
After having driven both PP and non-PP, I can't understand why anyone would want one of these cars without it! If your used to driving performance cars, the ride will not be stiff at all. If you want a real sports car, go for it! It is in no way uncomfortable, and the ride is far superior to a non-PP car's. If you're looking for this car to retain the characteristic mercedes cushiness, then don't get the package.
PM me if you need some help in allaying your fears

I want to mirror what others have said, I love the PP! Definitely worth it. I drove from San Diego to both Yosemite and Sequoia and the ride was fine. Not to mention a TON of fun in the mountains!

If anyone in SoCal has a C63 with "PP" I'd love to see how much better a "PP" car is compared to my "PO" (plain ol') C63.
In fact, pick any circular onramp and we'll see who gets around it faster. I will even keep my bald rears on my PO car. This offer is not extended to you racing pros at Evosport

I am on my 2nd C63 with PP, I like some of what the PP has but the suspension is not one of them. On the car I have now I installed PSS10's, made a world of difference.
The main reason is that I've also had a couple of E92 M3's and even with EDC in the sportiest setting the car will out-handle a C63 with PP and be alot more comfortable doing it

There's a black with gray/black interior at MB Hagerstown for 56,000, at least it was still for sale last week. I went the non PP route, as I plan to get an OS Giken LSD and a KW V3....That will equate to a few more $$$, but that's just me. You should really drive the two and note the difference. You could be one of those types that doesn't like a stiff ride, and depending on where you live that could be an issue.

OK, here is my take on the PP.
My first C63 was one without PP, so I have owned both versions.
The ride on the PP is realyy not bad at all. It got a bit harder with the 19"
wheels but with the standard 18" there is very little difference between the 2.
LSD makes a huge difference - black and white compared to the non PP.
Steering wheel - not so sure about this one, but you get used to it after a while. Just remember to wipe it down with a damp cloth every week - this prevents it from getting slippery/shiny/ugly.
The brakes are brilliant. I have tracked mine once and put on the 1/4 milke many times. No brake fade at all. Just remember these brakes take about 5-10km of driving before they are really effective.
Just my 2c

1. As others have said, an aftermarket LSD can be added on a non-PP C63...which I think most ppl are really looking for with the PP (as opposed to the other stuff that comes with the PP).
2. I would think the PP ceramic brakes may wear out quicker than reg. C63 AMG (non PP) brakes.
3. I would say that an M3 out-handles just about any C63, mainly due to the better weight distribution and better suspension.

there is a used on in WV. supposedly is a cherry owned buy a car nut who has a lift and wipes the underside and inside the wheels after every drive. its black with PP. it was an earlier 09 that had the PP without the suede steering wheel and brake package. they had the brakes put on at the dealer after the sale however so it has them now. I talked to the original salesman and he said it was used and had 6k miles on it. One owner that he knew personally. pm me and i can give you the dealers name and number if you want it. the price was close to a deeply discounted new one without the PP however. just fyi. if i can help i will give back in anyway possible.

Thanks for everyone's input... now, I'm even more confused, lol...
1. It seems like there is no C63 with PP out there other than the west coast.
2. I can get a good deal on a C63 w/o PP, but I really want one with PP
3. Get it anyway, since most of you said I can always add the LSD and coils later (how much is the aftermarket LSD anyway?)
4. So, should I just pull the trigger? Give up on the PP and get the non-PP C63 and settle?
5. Worst is that I need to make the dicision fast before ALL C63's are gone...

Mperor,
im in your same boat.. kindof... the PP doesnt mean that much to me. i would like the LSD but seriously... my C63 is going to be overkill already because it will be a trip car and an "out to dinner" ride. do you really need LSD for that? i think not.
are you tracking this thing or do you want PP for the testosterone factor? i dont know what you intend to do with yours. but i think 90 percent of AMGs never see the potential that they have to begin with. that will be my case.

they called me back and said they still have no idea what im talking about when i stated Benz was giving 7500 dollars off. they said they would dip into hold back and give me 5k off invoice. so IF the 7500 exists then they would actually be below what im offering which was 57000 out the door including the 6% sales tax... can you believe that? i wish i could get something in writing from someone so i could elighten my dealer!
