Long term owners: impressions of the C63?

Hoping for feedback from those of you who have owned your C63 for awhile. Do you use it as a DD? What are your impressions of the car now that you've driven it extensively? Still love it? Any unforeseen downsides or issues you didn't notice at first?

Thanks.

I've had mine for close to 8 months. It is my daily driver, even during the snowy season we had up here last winter (with proper snow tires, of course). The car continues to amaze me with its ample torque and its smooth (but frequent) automatic gearshifts. Fuel consumption remains as atrocious as it was on day one, but I'm not complaining. The car has absolutely zero pulling power with females, which is probably why my wife is happy to see me drive it.

'08 C63 AMG (turned in for lease)
Well I've had mine since April of 08 (it was one of the first 40 in the US) I have about 20,000 miles on it and I still love it. Still exciting, haven't had any problems and I get a lot of looks and thumbs up from people when Im driving it. Very fun car.

People look when I'm hitting the throttle but that's just because the car is obnoxiously loud. Otherwise its pretty much a low key sleeper car.

Thumbs down

Ok, I don't like the dead spot when you stomp (around 70ish), front end a bit too long (I like the 300 looks), 18" rims (looks a little un-proportional) a bit too low key. Overall a great car.

Daily driver (except winter, use S4 then). It's been great, nice and low key, only teenage boys seem to know what it is, very understated. Ride is a little harsh on the crappy Chicago roads, made worse so w/ the 20s, but otherwise not bad. I'd buy it again, though probably not new at MSRP given the depreciation.

Absolutely love it, still look back at it in teh garage every time a hope out of it. Turns heads most places, especially when you stomp it.

My only complaint is the capacity of the fuel tank is just too small. 66litres is atrocious. My ML is 95lt and it feels like a big step down, particularly when the fuel consumption is not that different

This is flat out the most enjoyable car that I've ever owned. I might even buy it when my lease is up since the CAFE laws will likely kill off its kind.

I've had mine since May 2008 so mine is one of the first ones in the US too. I haven't had any problems. It's not the daily so I actually only have 5k miles.

The car is great! I've had it since Oct 08 and I too still look back every time I leave it behind. I would have to disagree with the no look comments though, it gets plenty of looks from people of all ages. I have 7000 miles on it and the car still amazes me with its power and appeal.

I dont know about you guys but I have only had the car for a week and the amount of female attention I have been getting with this car is crazy. I have had about half a dozen requests for rides, and everyone that sees it thinks its a 100k sports car.

I think it has to do with the fact that a live in farm land and there arent that many sports cars up here, and ladies seem to dig the white interior.

I've had mine for about 16 months now & was also one of the first to hit the states. I'ts not my daily driver & I have about 11,000 miles on it. I love the car. It's the fastest, meanest looking & loudest car I've ever owned. I'm as excited now getting into it as I was the first time. Definitely a head turner. I've gotten lots of thumbs up from guys on the highways w/exotics as well as regular cars. About two wks ago I ran into the actor Tracy Morgan driving his Lambo drop and he even gave me the thumbs up! I really love the car and will love it even more when I stop BS'n and go ahead & get the Kleeman Tune.

To the normal lay person, it just looks like any regular C class.

I agree. The M3 turns more heads just because its a 2 door and the way it looks. But after driving the C63... that torque! I could not look at any other car it felt like driving a fast diesel truck that can turn!

Otherwise my main complain are the seats I love it when you're in them. But getting in the car is the not so fun part. You need to contort your body to swivel around the bolsters to get in.

I programmed the third seat memory setting with the seat pushed back really far. Before I get out I just hold 3 down and then getting out and then back in is much easier.

To all those who feel that your car does not garner as much attention from others as you would like.........you shoulda got the RED!

I get more looks and inquiries with this car than all the BMW M cars that I previously owned put together. And when the Kleemann exhaust fires up most everyone around glances over and seems to be asking "Is that a Mercedes Benz ?"

Probably not if it was an S500 but coming from a C63 which obviously has an entirely different market segment in mind it is a VERY "good thing".
