Track time in Sept.

Saturday & Sunday September 26 & 27
New Jersey Motorsports ParkLightning Course
$395 for both days or $235 for one
You do not want to miss the chance to drive the Lightning circuit at the east coast's newest track facility! See the Registration Section below for costs and registration options. You do not have to be a Mercedes-Benz Club member, and you can drive any car you like – including a non-Mercedes-Benz car – as long as it can pass the required pre-event technical inspection.
What do you get for your time and money? Easy – the chance to drive as fast as you feel comfortable with no threat of a traffic ticket, points, .... And you do this in a safe environment under the guidance of skilled instructors. If you've never done something like this before you're in for a real treat. And you'll be at the track with the nicest group of drivers you're likely to meet anywhere.
Track driving will make you a better driver. Since GWS driving events are all about learning, the stress levels are low and the fun levels are high. You (and your instructor) will spend your track time learning how to drive the course as fast as you feel comfortable going. This is a great way to work off some of the stress in your life. You won't know what fun is until you get off the Beltway and try a performance driving school. And, if you can't make both days, at least consider coming out for one.
Whatever make of car you drive, it must be in good mechanical condition and be covered by an insurance policy that provides at least $100,000 in liability coverage. We require that your car be checked for condition by a dealer or independent shop. You cannot pass the required Grid Tech inspection without the stamped or signed Pre-Event Tech Inspection Sheet (see link below). Convertibles require a roll bar, pop-up roll bar or a hard top. Drivers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid drivers license. All drivers must wear a helmet. As a minimum, helmets must bear a Snell Foundation rating SA2000 or M2000. If you do not own a suitable helmet, be sure to make arrangements to rent one to bring with you to the track because we may not have loaners.
Instructors will be available both days to help you learn about handling, braking, turn-in points, apexes, track out points, and more. These are all lessons that will help make you a better and safer driver on the street. And no one will force you to drive any faster than your comfort zone allows. It is important that you read and understand the contents of the Student Package - be sure to print it out and read the whole thing.
Plan now on joining us! If you have any questions, please contact Joe Wozney at 703.437.7866 or via email.
Most automobile insurance policies will not cover damage to your car that occurs while you're participating in a performance driving school. Lockton Affinity offers reasonably-priced short-term insurance policies tailored to HPDE events. [This Link] will take you to the application form for a policy to cover your car during this event.
All cars must pass a pre-event technical inspection no more than 30 days prior to the event. This inspection must be performed by a professional mechanic. We provide a copy of the MBCA form. Those who are driving other marques may use the form provided by the club for the marque they are driving. Participants must present the completed form to pass grid tech (HINT: put it in the glove compartment as soon as it's completed). We also require that all students read the Student Package and bring a copy with them to the event. The medical form included in the student package is optional. If you choose to use it, please fold it or put it in an envelope and turn it in at the registration desk after you complete grid tech.
Registration

We use interactive PDF forms for registration. The forms work best with Acrobat Reader 7.0 or newer. For this event, we are providing separate registraion forms for students and Instructors. Please be sure you use the appropriate form when you register. If you pay by check, use the "Print Form" button and mail your form and a check (payable to GWS-MBCA) to the address on the form. If you use PayPal, please use the "Submit by Email" button to send the data from your form to the event registrar electronically.
