Track Day Tire Opinions
With a road course track day approaching, I was hoping to get some insight regarding tire selection. I could simply use my street tires that are nearing the end anyway and buy new tires after the event. I do have a spare set of AMG wheels that I could put a set of specialty tires on but which ones? I would love to find a tire that will perform on a road course but also hook well at the drag strip. Please don"t even mention the "search" function, I did not find much of anything helpful to this specific scenario.
Right now Toyo R888's, RA1's and R1R's are highest on the list. I would prefer a street legal tire to avoid changes at the track.

i was reading through lotus forum and toyo R compounds are popular over there. A lot of them suggested to just get R888 if you are planning to get R1R. R1r is more street friendly however the difference on the street between R1R and R888 is neglible but on the track R888 is much better
