How far can you travel in full tank of petrol

Just out of curious

how far can you travel in full tank of petrol? mine is still run in period...but i pretty confident it can travel around 350km t0 400km (if i dnt push the car that often)

and i dnt know you guys...or mayb my car is still to new (650kms)...eveytime i start the car...the trip computer shows certain amount of kms to travel until the tank is empty (ie 250 km)...but since i drive the car for a while (5 minutes), the estimated distance will increase about 30-50 kms more than inital estimated kms...but the strange thing is...if i stop the car and at that time the estimated km was --- for example--- 180 kms...then next time i start the engine...the trip computer will show only 160 kms...and then goes up to 180kms as it cruise alone...

does the same thing happen to you guys as well?

i dnt really mind of the high fuel consumption, cause thats one of the things that we have to sacrifice for the mighty 6.2L engine.

mine trip computer says 17.1L, but i am really not pushing it hard...not at all
and for you who tune the ecu, are you expriencing higher fuel consumption compares to before? for example K1 tune or k2 tune?

My 63 has 460 miles on it. I’ve jumped on it maybe 10 times very briefly and I think only once to 6k RPM. I just filled up today for the 3rd time. My last tank was a little more aggressive on the pedal but never stomping on it like I will after breakin and I got 230 miles.

My computer says 13.8 average right now so its about the same as my truck. After the breakin im sure that number will drop to about 11.Sadly you will only get 200 miles per tank max if you drive semi aggressive. If you don’t drive aggressive to save money on gas go find the nearest Toyota and trade in your C63 for a Prius because you cant afford it.

This car is by far the worst on gas I’ve ever had aside from my Charger and my Chevelle which use fuel cells and get about 2 MPG.

thnkx for sharing...i guess the whole point of getting this car was not really saving the planet or let our grandkids enjoy the blue sky...

13.8 average is pretty good...at least better than mine

Yeah, still breaking her in. I like to drive fast and aggressive. But I also live in NY so if im on the hwy I put her in C to make her drop into 7th. That saves a lot of gas and S is a click away if I need it. Around the city though I use S.

Nah, I light foot it. You can you go up to 4k RPM during breaking. There is a lot of power available from 3-4K.

Don’t go TO soft on her. Your ECU will think you’re an 85 year old man and by the time your done with your breakin your car will be shifting horribly.

i have stepped on mine some but only done a kick down once or twice. always comfort mode. i seem to get a mix of highway and city of around 16 mpg. more highway than city. but i have been doing 80 on the interstate. the car just wants to go fast out there. i have around 650 miles on her and i would like to see how sport mode and manual feels..... but i guess i need to wait a couple of weeks for that... i do notice it shifting different and not as jerky as it was when i first got it. i guess its "learning."

You're going to end up getting about 270-290 km to a full tank of gas if you're doing mixed city/highway driving. Your trip computer's "distance to travel" indicator fluctuates because of the speed you're traveling at and how consistently you've been traveling at that speed for the previous XX number of kilometres. On the highway, at more sustained (and relatively) high speeds, your indicator will of course say that you'll be able to travel a greater distance on the remaining amount of fuel that's in your gas tank.

I managed to get an indicated 500 kilometres to one tank of gas on a recent highway run between Vancouver and Vernon, BC, which is pretty close to the actual distance between the two cities.

Learning to be a slow poke... Thats why you cant drive it that soft. The good part is you can reset that stuff to factory.

So it's about the same as your rear tires' tread life then.

16-17 MPG city, 21 MPG hwy for me. I always forget to see what I get to a full tank since I always fill before I get low.

Just got 4500kms on it.

Mixed city/hwy driving, averaging 310km from full to when the yellow light shows up.

Are you guys posting numbers at empty empty or when the reserve light shows up?

WOW I can almost get 275 till the reserve light pops up and thats like freeway driving. You mus have some pretty long downgrades and hills to drive on..
Good you can get that much with a tune.

Good luck Thursday.

I struggle to get anything more than 250km before the reserve light pops up. My first tank of gas only lasted little over 200km

not sure how true this is but you all might not want to run your cars till the fuel light appears. my mechanic told me that is a good way to ruin a fuel pump. he says that the people who typically fill up with like 5 bucks and run it to almost empty (i know you all dont do that but some people do) over and over are the people he sees needing a new fuel pump. his logic was the gas cools the pump and if you are running it low a lot it will eventually burn the pump up. just fyi.

Good to know. But when my fuel light is on, I can only fill about 55L of gas. If the tank is 66L like the spec says, that means there should be 11L left

500, thats amazing...i heard that one owner told the service man in MB that he sees the man in petrol station more often than he sees his mother in law

You can get more out of the reserve than you think. I get about 210k out of a tank with all city driving (Sydney CBD to Bondi) and hammering it, then fill up with reserve tank half empty with 4ltrs left out of the 66 ltr tank. I was prepared for shocking mileage as my other 63 can suck a golf ball through a garden hose but was not prepared for the pain in the butt of having such a small tank size.
