Need advice with new ECU #'s

Just got my ECU back from Renntech and did the whole 100 mile learning curve/break in and Im wondering what kind of dyno #'s I should have seen? They ran a few dynos but Im not sure how to interpret them. One problem is that they did not dyno the car before the tune so I have no frame of reference. But, the max power says 358.3 @ 6111 rpm/123 mph, and with WCF 389.2. The max torque says 359.1 @ 4862/133 mph and with WCF 382.7. This is my first experience with ECU tuning so I have no idea what these numbers really mean. The reason I ask is because I haven't noticed much of a difference and I supposedly paid for the stage 2 Renntech ECU. By the way, what does WCF stand for? Any help is greatly appreciated!

How many miles are on your car? That seems really low to me at least, granted I haven't tuned mine so I could be wrong.

Which brand of dyno was the car ran on?

Stock C63s on most dynoes are in 370s range - with a tune they should be in 410-420 range.

Something is not right.

7000 miles and it seems low to me as well. Not too excited having spent $3400!

Perhaps the flash didn't work or got erased..? You have broken your engine in already so you should definitely be in the low 400's like Vadim said (with a tune).

I am sure Renntech will fix whatever is wrong. 358rwhp is about right for stock in your climate this time of year so it may be the flash did not copy correctly.

Problem is I went through a third party dealer in Dallas so I'll have to see what they say. I was just about ready to do the new CF air box, headers, pulleys, and exhaust too. Looks like I'll have to go with another company or send the car to Renntech directly. They did mention something about the type of dyno simulating real road driving with resistance/friction but like I said, I know nothing. But I did get the 19" AMG 16 spoke wheels, so check out the album and let me know what you think!

Also wanted to see if you guys had any input on the full renntech set up with the new CF air box, headers, and exhaust? Website claims about 50 hp with all three??? I'd love to do it soon but I wanna get some feedback mainly on the difference in exhaust sound. I don't mind it being louder, just don't wanna lose that quality sound for an obnoxious sound... if that makes any sense??? And has anyone tried the new Renntech Autotuner? Thanks, again for the info!

You will build the most power with the MHP long tube headers and their tune. The new long tubes are geneating a minimum of 30-40rwhp increase OVER the Kleeman or MKB shorty headers. The torque increase is the same. Its actually shocking how much power these long tubes are generating. Good luck and be safe!!

What I like!
Let us know how this is resolved.

As others have said, your car is still putting out stock HP.

I cannot believe anyone on their right state of mind is still paying $3400 for the SAME exact tune as other companies would do for more than half of that price. To each their own!

I have to agree, feels like I was "sold" with all the talk of partial throttles, etc, etc all for naught. But I will post more when I hear back from them and see what they have to say or offer me. I will do my best to not let this happen to anyone else out there. But I must give them a chance to make things right at least... Thanks again!

Both Renntech and shop I dealt with were great in dealing with this. Went today and got a little better... 398 RWHP with WCF on Mustang dyno AWD. Dont think they did anything crazy with ESP, ABS, etc. Gonna take it outside of the city and do some hard driving and see how I like it before I decide if Im gonna stay with Renntech for airbox, headers, pulleys. Does anyone know what Renntech means by "sound pipe mod" in the upgrade packages listed on the website. Im leaning towards keeping factory exhaust and resonators (for fear of obnoxious sounds) and doing airbox, headers, and maybe pulley system... Any thoughts? Thanks again!

It seems as if you don't know much about cars in general. I would learn how to drive the car first before throwing all kind of mods on there. That is the best mod you can do for yourself.

You are absolutely right I don't know that much, which is why I was asking these questions to begin with. I apologize, it won't happen again. But thanks to all those of you that were helpful

The sound pipe mod is probably 2ry cat delete. If you have headers, sec cat remove and airbox from Renntech the sound will be amazing (I have those mods on my car). It will be a little more aggressive and sporty, but not too much, not loud but rich and low (compared myself with stock car).

Give the tune some time to blend in with your car, as some say the ECU tune also has a "break in" period.

Did Renntech offer you a pulley system? If so, please tell more.
And don't forget that the owner of Renntech used to be a tech engineer at AMG.

I think you made a good choice with Renntech. I'm not saying that Kleemann or Powerchips (most popular tunes here) are worse, no no no, it is just a matter of personal choice. And when it comes to money, it is everyone's personal decision how much to spend. Some people buy MKB Stage 2 which is somewhere around $15K.

There is nothing for you to apologize for. I was giving you constructive criticism. I learn from my last car that you'll have a more enjoyable time if you learn how to drive your car properly rather than throwing random mods on it.

My mistake, Renntech didn't offer a pulley system... Had my manufacturer's confused. I recently noticed they offered the CF airbox on their website along with the other mods previously listed. I've been doing too much reading and not enough driving but I am working on that! FYI... If anyone knows of someone looking for a set of C63 18" wheels/tires please let me know as I have a set in great shape I am looking to sell. Asking $1500 plus shipping from Dallas
