Guys,

I was looking at my friend's c63 and he told me that he got the PP package but his steering wheel is not alcantara steering wheel and he showed me the car sticker which said that it has the performance package. He also told me that the front brakes are different when comparing pp car with the non pp car. He said that the brakes are cross drilled while the non pp car only drilled?

is this true? and are there anything else visual that I can show him so he wouldnt be tricked by the dealership?

030 pkg will give:
- AMG LSD
- AMG compound braking system
- AMG track calibrated suspension system
- AMG alcantara/leather steering wheel
- 174mph top speed

some early models came with a hodge podge of those options mentioned by MJ50. you can find cars out there with some and without some of them.

He probably got one of those half-performance package cars that was missing the steering wheel. This happened with the early '08PP cars. Have him go to the dealer and check it out.

+1. Like these guys said and btw -- the 14.2in. front and 12in. rear "cross-drilled"/vented rotors should be the same in the PP as the non-PP cars; the PP C63 AMG does have the ceramic compound brakes though.

guys, i saw the sticker and its an 09 with the 030 performance package. This is so weird, I currently in the market for one and now Im afraid that the dealer will try to rip people off with cars that does not have pp but claimed that it has one.

@sflgator how did you check for the ceramic compound brake?

care to explain more? Does that mean that he only need to replace the steering wheel?

Sorry, I do not know if there is a visual difference or not. I do not have the PP; I just know what's supposed to be included in the PP. Perhaps someone with a PP C63 will chime in.

If you see some small bolts with a yellow outline in the center of the front brakes you have the 2-piece

i have pp, and it sez compound brake system. not sure what that means.

the PP package has the alcantara steering wheel which is suede. if it doesnt have it hes getting tricked. the front rotors for the PP package is 2 piece. if its not then hes getting fooled. the only thing thats unnoticeable is the PP package suspension but driving it you can tell. its a much stiffer ride. dont let the dealer fool him. it also has lsd. put it to the test. try doing some burnouts. if both tires dont show on the floor it doesnt have lsd.
